Ninja and Ordinary People

Hinata activated her Byakugan again, her taut meridians appearing at the sides of her eyes. She didn't know if she should immediately rush out of the carriage or pretend to be drugged and counterattack when the enemy entered.

However, by the time she saw the situation outside the carriage clearly, she had no choice. Apart from the leader, the other bandits impersonating the coachmen were all holding long spears taken from the carriage, surrounding Hinata's carriage.

The sudden turn of events had made them determined to kill this little girl.

The spears thrust forward together, piercing the entire carriage. This was a scene usually only seen in magic shows, yet Hinata, like a magician's assistant, was unharmed.

She raised a palm and struck the carriage roof. The wooden planks there were the weakest part of the entire carriage. Leaping high, she reached for the ninja tool bag at her waist.

Shuriken flew towards the strongest bandits, tracing beautiful arcs in the air, but only one found its mark.

Even the Uchiha's unique shuriken throwing technique couldn't save Hinata's accuracy.

However, her goal wasn't to kill them directly, but to force most of them back, leaving them no time to deal with her while she was still in the air.

But the young leader wasn't afraid of the shuriken at all. He drew his katana, and a flash of cold light severed all the shuriken thrown at him. Then he shouted loudly:

"Surround her! If the child attacks, the parent comes. Don't let her escape."

As Hinata landed, she stepped on someone's head. She could have escaped, but if she ran, the mission would fail. The bandits, now on alert, would quickly divide the spoils and scatter, disappearing from the area.

She had to capture this group here and then follow their rugged path up the mountain to deal with the rest.

A Genin versus a group of ordinary people.

Seeing what Hinata had just done, the bandits realized she hadn't been lying. They didn't know where such a genius had come from, but if they didn't kill her now, they would be the ones to die.

Everyone held their spears, their eyes red.

They were clearly trained, covering each other's flanks. If someone charged, they would instantly be impaled.

Hinata wasn't in a hurry. She took out a cluster of senbon from her ninja tool bag. These slender, needle-like ninja tools could be carried in large quantities but required extreme accuracy from the thrower.

They were usually only effective if they hit a vital spot.

But the senbon Hinata carried were different. They were slightly larger than normal senbon and hollow in the middle, allowing them to be filled with poison or used as blood channels. Their material was also different, shimmering with a faint blue light.

The senbon rained down on the bandits, taking down several immediately. The remaining ones wailed as the poison pre-injected into the senbon took effect very quickly.

Soon, only a few bandits were left. They had underestimated Hyuga Hinata. If they had scattered and fled immediately, perhaps more would have survived.

However, the remaining ones were the best among ordinary people. After such a deadly barrage of senbon, Hinata couldn't possibly fire a second volley. The bandits, brandishing their spears, swarmed forward, thrusting towards Hinata's likely escape routes.

However, Hinata had already quietly activated her Byakugan. With the help of her suddenly enhanced dynamic vision, she found an opportunity.

She bent down, her body almost parallel to the ground, dodging the spears aimed at her head one by one. Seeing this, the bandits prepared to press their spears down to the ground, but Hinata had already closed the distance, striking out at the bandit closest to her.

Chakra erupted from her palm, intending to kill him with a single blow.

However, at the last moment, she violently twisted her body, changing her technique. Her palm struck the bearded bandit's arm, accompanied by the crisp sound of bone breaking.

It was this forced change of move that allowed her to narrowly dodge a katana that pierced through the ribs of the bearded bandit and out his chest.

The young leader's face showed a look of annoyance. He hadn't expected this child to have such keen battlefield instincts. His technique of sacrificing his own men had failed to achieve any effect.

But Hinata was sweating coldly. If not for the Byakugan's clairvoyance, which allowed her to see the ambush behind the bandit, she would have been impaled.

With one less combat-ready bandit, the young man with the katana joined the fray. Although he had no chakra, his sharp blade and his adult physique were enough to threaten Hinata.

What's more, he had learned some swordsmanship from somewhere, managing to stabilize the bandits' line for a time. But it was only stabilization. They were terrified to find their stamina rapidly depleting, their movements becoming sluggish, while Hinata's stamina showed no sign of decrease.

Children always had endless energy, but Hinata knew she had taken a soldier pill beforehand. Once the pill's effects wore off, she wouldn't be able to maintain this state.

Both sides wanted to break the stalemate quickly, and the bandits struck first.

"Retreat!" the young man with the katana shouted, throwing something that hissed and crackled. It was an explosive tag.

They were very expensive, rarely used even by ninjas. This was the bandits' only one, but their lives were more important than money.

Hinata had also seen such things. Her ninja tool bag contained two. A few days ago, Uchiha Jie had demonstrated the damage radius of such weapons to her, teaching her several traps using explosive tags.

She hadn't expected to use them herself now.

The blast wave from the explosion sent the closest bandits flying. Hinata protected her vital areas, leaning against a large tree. Fortunately, the area was forested, and the giant trees reduced the explosion's power, leaving her with only minor scratches.

"Quick! Hold on a little longer! We'll retreat to the mountain together! Reinforcements are coming soon!" Hinata's sharp ears caught the voice from behind the tree.

However, through her Byakugan, she saw them gripping their swords and spears, hiding themselves in the thick smoke from the explosion. They didn't realize she possessed the Byakugan, which could see through any obstruction.

The wrong choice led to a one-sided slaughter. Fierce whistling sounds echoed from the sky as the bandits hiding in the smoke let out screams one after another, falling down.

They didn't dare to rush out of the smoke. The first one to charge would be the most obvious target, but staying inside, they were clearly going to die.

"Together!" someone shouted, but in the end, only he rushed out. Facing him was Hinata's fair hand, which lightly pressed against his chest.
