Dragon Sable sighed as he looked at him. "Master, the power of this Mountain and Sea Scroll is truly immense. Even its backlash is this severe. You'll have to use it cautiously from now on."
Bi Fan smiled and nodded. "I know. I had no choice this time."
Xiao Lian gave a soft snort. "You could clearly have brought out the Cauldron. You just had to show off, and now look at the mess you're in."
Bi Fan smiled helplessly and didn't argue. He merely asked, "Xiao Lian, are you all right?"
"I'm not dead."
Xiao Lian replied coldly, with the usual arrogance in his voice. "A puny Chaos Elder thinks he can tear me apart? Dream on!"
"If I'd recovered, one breath of dragon fire would've been enough to take his life!"
Bi Fan silently wiped the sweat beading on his forehead, feeling a little emotional.
He knew that some top-grade Chaos Spirit Items could take human form once they reached a certain level of cultivation, and fight independently from then on. Clearly, Xiao Lian had the strength and potential to do that.
Yet as its host, he was only an insignificant little Chaos Envoy. The thought made him feel rather ashamed.
