The Hall of Skeletons
Bi Fan and Ling Xiaoxiao heard the faintly restrained pride in his voice. They both turned around involuntarily, their eyes widening in astonishment at the scene before them.
The originally spacious, empty hall was now shrouded in a hazy golden mist. The surrounding walls had somehow vanished, and apart from the marble beneath their feet, nothing else had changed. It was as if they had entered an entirely unfamiliar realm.
But that was not what shocked them. What met their eyes were rows upon rows of enormous dragon skeletons, each with a different shape. Though they had been dead for more than a thousand years, they still exuded such an imposing aura that it made one's heart tremble. They watched the intruders in cold silence.
The skeletons stretched as far as the eye could see, standing quietly in neat rows that continued beyond the distant reaches of their vision.
Bi Fan stood rooted to the spot, a profound sense of reverence and awe stirring in his heart.
These were nothing like the shattered skeleton he had once dug up from the ground. Every skeleton was perfectly intact, with not a single bone missing.
Other than the lack of flesh and blood, each one was just like a living giant dragon, enough to leave anyone shaken and awestruck.
Only after a long while did Bi Fan silently close his eyes. In all his years of cultivation, he had never encountered anything that made him want to prostrate himself in worship. This Hall of Skeletons was the first.
Ling Xiaoxiao stood to one side, an unusually grave look in her eyes. Now she understood why the Dragon Clan had been willing to sacrifice so many Spirit God Realm experts to defend this place to the death.
