Neji escaped Konoha’s attempt to sacrifice Hyuga Hiashi, found a new home in Kumogakure, and quickly became a powerful ninja under Samui and Yugito’s guidance. During a mission to Kusagakure, he uncovered a lead on the Box of Paradise while Yugito searched a village office for secret scrolls.

• Neji protected Hinata from three bullies, but after Kumogakure’s failed attempt to abduct her, Konoha faced pressure to hand over Hyuga Hiashi, and Neji was taken away by Samui.
• Yozuki A welcomed Neji into Kumogakure and granted him access to its training resources, while Neji vowed to collect the debts Hyuga and Konoha owed his father.
• Neji trained with Samui and Shoichi, awakened Lightning Release Chakra and the Tenseigan, and mastered Lightning Release Chakra Mode and God Vacuum Attack.
• Yugito became Neji’s Jonin instructor, and the two escorted Takayama Tokugawa’s family through repeated attacks before safely delivering the supplies to Kusagakure.
• Yugito revealed that their escort mission concealed a Raikage assignment to investigate the Box of Paradise, and Neji agreed to search the northern region of Kusagakure.
• Neji fought through Kusagakure shinobi, controlled the elite jonin Katsushiro, and learned from his memories that Mui had taken the Box of Paradise to Hozuki Castle three years earlier.
• Yugito infiltrated Kusagakure’s administrative building and found scrolls on Uchiha Style Swordsmanship, Sand Village Basic Puppet Technique, and Explosion Release.

Neji rescued Kana and Karin, confronted Root’s infiltration of Kumogakure, and pursued clues about the killer of Yozuki Rei. After delivering Kyuzo’s tachi to Mifune, Neji and Yugito were ambushed by Root, and both became trapped in the battle.

• Neji rescued Kana and Karin from Kusagakure and brought them to Kumogakure, where Fourth Raikage A rewarded him and accepted the Uzumaki women into the clan.
• Neji defeated Yozuki Rei in a spar, showed her his Black Lightning, and later reached Tenseigan Lv. 2 before a Root assassin attacked him.
• Neji uncovered Root’s assault on Kumogakure and found Yakushi Nonō at the Crimson Leaf Izakaya, where an explosion killed the patrol ninjas and diners.
• Neji told Fourth Raikage A that Root had infiltrated the village through a high-ranking mole and decided to draw the attackers out while recruiting Nonō.
• Obito killed Yozuki Rei and took her body and the Red Gourd, while Neji and Yugito studied Rei’s clues and concluded her killer had used Space-Time Ninjutsu.
• Neji delivered Kyuzo’s tachi to Mifune in the Land of Iron and learned how conviction could strengthen swordsmanship.
• Root ambushed Neji and Yugito on their journey back, separated them, and trapped Neji under Earth Release: Falling Lid.
• Neji escaped the falling lid and fought Root while Ryoma’s squad restrained Yugito, but a Shadow Imitation Technique immobilized Neji as two attackers closed in.

Neji joined the Chunin Exams as Kumogakure’s captain while pursuing missions that drew him into Konoha’s crisis over the Uchiha. As Fugaku began leading his clan out of the village, Neji stole the Scroll of Seals and Obito took other treasures from the Hokage archive.

• Neji and Yugito exposed Danzo’s scheme against Nonō and Kabuto, then Neji joined Darui and Karui for the Chunin Exams in Konoha.
• Neji killed Hyuga Hiashi, used his Tenseigan to make a deal with the Nine-Tails, and evaded Konoha’s investigation into the murder.
• Neji defeated Root pursuers during the Forest of Death exam, while the Uchiha and Konoha’s leadership clashed after Itachi and a masked Root ninja were found dead.
• Neji and Yugito convinced Fugaku to take the Uchiha to Kumogakure instead of staging a coup, and the clan voted to leave Konoha.
• Darui and Karui helped lead the Uchiha civilians out of the village as Fugaku and the clan’s shinobi stayed behind, while Neji slipped into the Hokage Building.
• Neji and Obito fought near the guarded archive, then entered it together, where Neji took the Scroll of Seals and Obito took Hashirama Cells and other scrolls.
• Kurama Murakumo revealed that Shisui was absent, leaving the clan leaders wary of helping Hiruzen attack Fugaku.

Neji helped the Uchiha escape Konoha and settle in Kumogakure, then pursued power and allies while uncovering clan history and securing the Dragon Vein. As Kirigakure invaded, Neji joined Kumogakure’s war effort and ended the arc preparing to draw Mist reinforcements to Skull Island.

• Danzo ordered Root to attack the Uchiha, and Konoha’s forces clashed with them as Neji and Yugito tried to take Naruto from the village.
• Neji confronted Hiruzen, entered Naruto’s mental space, and removed two formulas from the seal before the Nine-Tails’ chakra surged onto him, and he then escaped with Yugito and Naruto while Fugaku died in the fighting.
• Shisui became head of the Uchiha, and Neji guided the survivors toward Kumogakure, where the Fourth Raikage welcomed them and Neji volunteered to marry Mikoto as part of an alliance.
• Neji investigated the black market’s bounty on Orochimaru, explained his plan to unify the Shinobi World to Yugito, and studied the Uchiha Stone Tablet and clan records with Shisui.
• Neji and Uchiha Izumi traveled to Rōran, where Neji freed the Dragon Vein and transferred its chakra into the Amber Purifying Pot, then helped Princess Sara lead her people toward Kumogakure.
• Neji confronted Sunagakure’s pursuit force, defeated Hiruko and Sasori, rescued Pakura, and arranged for Hiruko to serve as a spy while Pakura agreed to serve Neji for ten years.
• As Kirigakure invaded Kumogakure, Neji led Samui, Pakura, Uchiha Izumi, and Sasori to Skull Island, defeated Lin Yuyuri, and chose to draw Mist reinforcements there rather than retreat to Yugito.
