Duoduo Goes Abroad
After her initial panic, Duoduo realized she had landed on something soft. She finally breathed a sigh of relief. At least she hadn't hurt herself.
But before she could feel glad, she heard Tong Wenjie gasp. She hurriedly looked down and saw that her mother's forehead was beaded with cold sweat, and her face was deathly pale.
At a loss, she asked anxiously, "Mom, what's wrong?"
Tong Wenjie could barely speak. Trembling, she called out, "Dad! Dad!..."
Seeing her mother start to babble, Duoduo panicked even more. She was so anxious she didn't know what to do.
Thankfully, Tong Wenjie soon came around a little. Still trembling, she managed to say, "Call 120." Only then did Duoduo react.
After Tong Wenjie was taken to the hospital, she was quickly sent for scans. The results gave Duoduo and Fang Yuan a fright.
The reason Tong Wenjie's abdomen hurt so much wasn't just the impact. The spot where Duoduo had landed was right over a tumor in her uterus.
Fang Yuan was terrified. He was so flustered that he forgot he was a doctor, and had no idea what to do next.
Fortunately, Doctor Zhou stayed calm. She helped ask Tong Wenjie's attending physician what to do, then followed the doctor's instructions and began the examinations step by step.
Thankfully, the final results weren't too bad. Tong Wenjie's tumor had been caught early and was benign. She only needed surgery, and once she recovered, she would be fine.
