Before Wang Yue could answer Xu Hongdou, he opened the car door and heard someone apparently get hit by the car parked up ahead. An angry roar followed: "Ow! Which reckless bastard hit my car?"
"Keep an eye on him! Don't let him get away!"
As the shouts rang out, footsteps pounded toward Wang Yue's car. A moment later, a woman was banging on the window beside Xu Hongdou, calling frantically, "Help! They're robbers!"
The woman's hair was a mess, and she was pounding on Xu Hongdou's side of the car. In the middle of the night, she looked especially frightening. Startled, Xu Hongdou hurriedly leaned toward Wang Yue.
Wang Yue reached over to reassure Xu Hongdou, then said gently, "Don't panic. I'll get out and take a look. Don't open the door."
His voice seemed to have a calming effect. Xu Hongdou settled down, and when she looked at the woman outside again, she didn't seem quite so scary. Looking more closely, Xu Hongdou noticed what appeared to be blood on her and quickly warned Wang Yue, "Be careful!"
Wang Yue nodded and said nothing more. He got out of the car, shut the door behind him, and locked it.
But before he had a chance to survey the scene, a young man with a scarred face and a little braid charged toward him.
Behind the young man, another man was clutching his lower back and struggling in their direction. It was obvious he'd been hit by the car, and badly. Even so, he was still trying to grab the disheveled woman. He was completely ignoring Wang Yue, a grown man standing right there. Something about it was clearly wrong.
Wang Yue had no time to assess the situation. He stepped in front of the two men and said
