Plant-Type Female Demon?
When Wang Yue heard what the police said, he didn't say anything more. After all, there were plenty of cases where people tried to help and got nothing but trouble in return. One more wouldn't make a difference.
He seemed to remember a post about a driver who had a sick person—or maybe a pregnant woman—in his car. He ran red lights all the way to the hospital, but the other person refused to testify for him, and in the end he lost points on his license.
That was why he usually considered the circumstances before helping anyone. He didn't get involved without good reason.
Well, maybe it was also because he was just too lazy.
Yesterday's situation had been a little unusual. He'd already clashed with that group, so taking care of those two had really been taking care of his own trouble.
He could vaguely guess why the woman had left with the others. Judging by what had happened yesterday, those two groups clearly knew each other. At the very least, the woman probably knew the two who'd gotten away.
Since the woman had already left, Wang Yue was no longer much use as a witness. The police exchanged a few pleasantries with him, then continued down the mountain to get on with their work.
Wang Yue didn't leave either. He simply followed the police down the mountain, since this was where he'd meant to go in the first place.
But after the police checked inside the car, they packed up and prepared to leave. Before they went, they asked Wang Yue if he wanted to come with them. They were deep in the mountains, after all, and it wasn't safe to leave him there alone.
Wang Yue pretended to be fascinated by a plant.
