In an instant, they vanished from their original positions.

Chapter 6: But It Smells So Good
The motorcycle arced across the sky.
Zhao Bai hadn't expected that after just one day, he would return to this place again, this time with a little follower. Kiana, on the other hand, was full of ambition, diligently studying documents in the back of the vehicle. Before long, she fell asleep, drool trickling from the corner of her mouth.
Because he had a passenger, Zhao Bai didn't travel at maximum speed. Instead, he took his time, spending forty minutes flying from St. Freya to Canghai City.
"Wake up."
The motorcycle took a turn and stopped abruptly in mid-air. Zhao Bai gripped the handlebars tightly, while Kiana, propelled by inertia, lunged forward, her head hitting the glass with a dull thud. The girl clutched her head, and after a while, slowly got to her feet.
"Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Kiana gently rubbed her forehead. "It hurts so much."
"Next time, for sure."
Zhao Bai replied, a hint of teasing in his voice. Kiana caught it keenly, her eyes flashing, and she threw a punch. Zhao Bai, who had been watching with amusement, suddenly felt the same pain, and he too crouched down, holding his forehead.
Kiana said, "What good is comfort? Come and share the pain with me."
"Mmm..."
This was just a minor setback, not even worth recording in the mission log. After recovering, Zhao Bai parked the motorcycle. It entered optical camouflage mode and hovered above a lamppost, undetectable to anyone.
Kiana looked eager, her hands itching to reach for her waist, where her weapon was stored: the Prototype Pulse Pistol.
Zhao Bai found a McDonald's and sat down next to the Uncle McDonald's figure, frowning as he said, "The mission objective is simple, but too vague. It's just that small-scale Honkai incidents in Canghai City have been a bit intense lately. The city is so big, where do we even start looking?"
"That won't stump me."
Kiana replied, also sitting next to Uncle McDonald's. The spacious bench immediately became crowded. "There are Honkai outbreak points on the map. We'll just check them one by one and then summarize their connections."
After hearing this optimistic plan, Zhao Bai's frown did not dissipate.
Zhao Bai had resolved most of the Honkai incidents in Canghai City himself while delivering food, and they weren't officially recorded. If they really went by the map, checking each one, they would find absolutely nothing.
But how could he explain this to Kiana?
Me, Zhao Bai, just an inconspicuous restaurant owner by day, but the dark knight protecting the citizens by night?
He couldn't bring himself to say it.
Fortunately, Zhao Bai was the leader of this operation. All the action plans were planned by him, and the next steps depended entirely on his mood.
He pondered for a moment and decided to find the girl he had met while delivering food that day.
The place wasn't hard to find. He led a confused Kiana through the streets to an unremarkable residential building and began knocking on doors.
Knock, knock, knock.
The door creaked open, revealing a face that was not unfamiliar.
Her eyes were wary. After a careful observation, she covered her mouth and exclaimed, "Are you... the man from... that night?"
Zhao Bai coughed and corrected her, "It is indeed me, but please don't say it so strangely. I was just delivering food that day, and incidentally saved your life. I didn't do anything weird."
