Liesel Albert Einstein.
Ein for short.
Ein folded her arms across her chest, a blueberry-colored lollipop held between the fingers of her right hand, her eyes carrying a faint trace of fatigue.
She teased, "The rendezvous point Walter chose has been sealed off. Does Tesla have any ideas?"
"No!"
"Then I suppose there's nothing to be done."
Ein was as languid as ever. "Passing intelligence is absolutely necessary. The lakeside, which was originally deserted, has been sealed off. It's time to find a new location at St. Freya Academy."
Tesla was merely tsundere. She was not stupid at all—quite the opposite, she was very smart.
After thinking for a while, she finally understood what Ein meant.
Tesla simply could not understand why Ein, who had always been notoriously bad at reading the room, was being so considerate today, giving her a way out of an awkward situation.
"Heavy Cannon Rabbit was dropped, its hard drive malfunctioned badly, and all of last night's data was lost?"
Bronya repeated, "Bronya doesn't believe it."
"Believe it or not, that's up to you."
Zhao Bai set the plate on the table. A ceramic knife lay on it, while a black sausage rested quietly in the center. No sauce had been added; it had been served immediately after the package was opened.
1986, Soviet space program.
Sausage supplied exclusively to astronauts. It had little moisture, yet every grain of black caviar was so plump.
Was this some kind of food preservation technology?
Bronya closed her eyes and savored the flavor from thirty years ago. The breeze from the Volga River trickled quietly through her stomach...
Her preferred food was simple.
Ready to eat straight from the package, with an extremely long shelf life and easy storage.
It would be even better if it tasted a little more wonderful.
This black caviar sausage perfectly met all her needs. Zhao Bai had even drizzled a spoonful of white salad dressing over it, serving it with Siberian milk mashed potatoes.
The salad dressing was thick and milky white. The mashed potatoes had been passed through a sieve twice, then mixed with boiled whole milk, leaving none of the coarse texture of ordinary potatoes. The side dish was the exceedingly rare black caviar sausage.
An unbelievably delicious taste.
Everything was just right, but Bronya felt that something was off.
"How do you explain this?"
Bronya asked as a photograph was tossed onto the table.
The photo was blurry, like a screenshot from surveillance footage. It showed Zhao Bai and Heavy Cannon Rabbit together, with Zhao Bai lying in Heavy Cannon Rabbit's arms in a princess carry.
That's right. Although Theresa had sealed off the news very quickly, this picture had still spread.
