Distance alteration was when Lan Mu and Best shortened the distance between themselves and other galaxies. During movement, relative to everyone else, they crossed vast distances at faster-than-light speed.
For example, Lan Mu was one meter from A and one meter from B, while A and B were ten thousand meters apart. Then, whether Lan Mu went to A or B, from the perspective of points A and B, he crossed ten thousand meters in the time it took to cross one.
However, this faster-than-light travel was built upon an abnormality in an individual's relative distance. The distance between the two galaxies remained unchanged; only Lan Mu's distance from them was shortened. That was what made faster-than-light travel possible.
Yet Lan Mu now faced an enemy with the same ability. To curb Lan Mu's speed, Best directly shortened the distance between the galaxy whose distance Lan Mu had altered and all of M87. This caused Lan Mu to lose his distance advantage, dropping his speed back to light speed.
Likewise, Lan Mu was doing the same thing to restrain Best.
In their subtle clash, they threw the relative positions of countless coordinate systems into utter chaos, bringing disaster upon the M87 Nebula and many observable nebulae across the starry sky.
The Draco Nebula was merely the first. Soon afterward, three more nebulae approached M87 in succession, the closest of them only one light-day away.
For galaxies, a distance of one light-day was practically nothing... Their Gravitational Fields had already overlapped, and celestial bodies at the edges of their stellar regions were suffering horrific tearing forces.
At this moment, M87 was effectively surrounded by four major galaxies. Though it was the largest among them, it could not withstand the dividing pull of four galaxies. It was bound to be torn apart,
