Background / History

Tang Hao was raised within the Clear Sky Sect as Tang Yue's son and Tang Xiao's younger brother. His family regarded him as a gifted candidate to become the future “Clear Sky Douluo,” and Tang Xiao actively supported his cultivation after his fusion with the Wisdom Soul Bone. 19

While traveling with Tang Xiao, Tang Hao discovered that Ah Yin was a shapeshifting Soul Beast. Viewing her as a source of Soul Rings, Soul Bones, and a means to continue the Clear Sky Hammer lineage, he sought to seize her alongside his brother. 51 53 Zhao Linchuan defeated and humiliated the brothers, then used Recording Stones to preserve evidence of their ordeal. Tang Hao responded by proposing that Tang Yue personally kill Zhao Linchuan, seize Ah Yin, and recover the recordings. 53 55

Tang Hao accompanied Tang Yue and Tang Xiao in their later confrontation with Zhao Linchuan. Although Tang Yue initially restrained him, Tang Hao's hatred of Zhao Linchuan remained unresolved. 62 The Clear Sky Sect's subsequent clashes and losses deepened the family's decline, and Tang Hao later attended the Continental Sect Competition with Tang Xiao and Tang Yue. 179

At the competition, Tang Hao easily defeated Yu Lingfeng but was overwhelmingly defeated by Bibi Dong in the second round. His rash attack was interrupted by her spiderweb control, and he was eventually rendered unconscious and nearly killed. Tang Hao later entered a relationship with A Die, who had been Tang Xiao's fiancée. When Tang San awakened both Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer with Innate Full Soul Power, Tang Hao saw his son's Twin Martial Souls as the Clear Sky Sect's chance to regain power and status. 274 He attempted to contact Tang Xiao and Tang Lie with this news, but Tang Xiao blamed him for the sect's calamities and nearly killed him before Tang Lie intervened. 299 300

Tang Hao remained involved in Tang San's life, objecting violently when he learned that Tang San had accepted Yu Xiaogang as his teacher. 306 He later helped Tang Xiao and Tang Lie investigate a possible deity inheritance connected to the Clear Sky Hammer. 389

The group’s attempt to test Tang San with the inheritance token failed when the blood-red sword chose Huang San instead. Their affiliation with the Asura God Cult was then exposed before Zhao Linchuan. Tang Hao was forced to kneel before the emperor and subsequently learned that Tang Chen and A Die were both Zhao Linchuan's disciples. 398 399 Unable to accept the revelations, Tang Hao fled after declaring that he would one day destroy Zhao Linchuan's Empire. 401

Personality

Tang Hao is proud, ambitious, and intensely conscious of the Clear Sky Sect's prestige. He repeatedly assumes that the sect's name, his status, or his strength should compel others to yield, whether confronting Zhao Linchuan, Yu Lingfeng, or Bibi Dong. 51 180 181

His pride makes him impulsive under humiliation. Zhao Linchuan's mockery and Bibi Dong's provocation both drive him into reckless responses, while his defeat by Bibi Dong leaves him bitter and fixated on revenge. 62 182 186

Despite his selfishness and anger, Tang Hao displays genuine attachment to Tang San. Tang San's Twin Martial Souls revive his hope for both his son and the Clear Sky Sect, and he reacts with fury upon discovering Yu Xiaogang had become Tang San's teacher. 274 306
