Background
Tang San grew up in Sacred Soul Village in poverty, wearing clean but heavily patched clothing and living with his withdrawn, drunken father, Tang Hao. Though he came from another world and knew little about Douluo Continent, he was notably calm and sensible for a six-year-old, especially in his concern for Tang Hao. Old Jack encouraged him to pursue a Soul Master education as a way out of the village. 273
At his awakening ceremony, Tang San manifested Blue Silver Grass and Innate Full Soul Power. After returning home, he revealed his second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer, which gave Tang Hao renewed hope for both Tang San's future and the Clear Sky Sect. 274
He enrolled at Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy as a Work-Study Student. Yu Xiaogang recognized that Tang San possessed a second, high-quality Martial Soul and became his teacher after Tang San formally accepted him as a master. 278
Appearance
As a child, Tang San had ordinary features, exceptionally dark and bright eyes, and a calmness that made him seem older than his age. He initially wore patched but carefully washed clothes. 273
- Dark, unusually bright eyes. 273
- Initially dressed in plain, shabby clothing as a Work-Study Student. 279 288
- Carries the heavy, jet-black phantom of the Clear Sky Hammer when summoning his second Martial Soul. 274 395
Personality
Tang San is initially humble, curious, and eager to learn about the Soul Master world. He listens carefully to instruction, treats Old Jack respectfully, and readily accepts Wang Sheng's guidance despite his unfamiliarity with city life and social hierarchies. 273 279 289
His ambition grows after seeing the Continental Spirit Master Tournament projection. The prospect of Spirit Hall resources, tournament glory, and advancement to Dao Seeking Academy gives him a powerful desire for strength, recognition, and a place at the continent's peak. 286 309
He is capable of genuine loyalty and care, notably tending Yu Xiaogang after their near-fatal spirit hunt and seeking Wang Sheng's counsel during personal crises. However, fear for his future and a pragmatic desire to avoid implication ultimately lead him to expose Yu Xiaogang's crimes. 304 317 322 326
Later setbacks reveal a more resentful and competitive side. Tang San envies Wang Sheng's stable life, takes considerable risks to gain strength quickly, and is deeply affected by humiliating defeats. 373 384 385
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses two Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. His Innate Full Soul Power is considered extraordinary, particularly given Blue Silver Grass's reputation as a weak Martial Soul. 274 288

- Chaotic Wind — Hammer technique used with the Clear Sky Hammer to defeat the Ground Splitting Rhinoceros Soul King. 384 395
High-Year Soul Ring Absorption
