Background / History

Tang Hao was once the Clear Sky Sect's greatest genius in a century and the youngest Titled Douluo on the continent. In his prime, he wielded the Clear Sky Hammer against multiple Spirit Hall Titled Douluo, survived their pursuit, and reportedly killed one of them. 50 51

He fell in love with Ah Yin, a Hundred-Thousand-Year Transformation Soul Beast and the Blue Silver Emperor. When Spirit Hall cornered them in Spirit City, Ah Yin sacrificed herself to Tang Hao, becoming his Hundred-Thousand-Year Ninth Soul Ring so that he could escape with the newborn Tang San. 236

The aftermath severed Tang Hao from the Clear Sky Sect. When the sect closed its gates, he accepted the blame and was expelled, then vanished from public view for more than a decade. 225

Appearance

Tang Hao is a tall, lean but powerful man who usually wears a black robe. His face is weathered and fierce, with deep-set eyes and an oppressive Killing Aura that persists even when suppressed. 49 225

  • Black robes, often tattered and stained with blood after his defeat by Lin Qing. 225
  • Messy hair, heavy stubble, and a haggard, exhausted expression in later appearances. 63 225
  • Carries thick calluses from years of hammer-wielding and blacksmithing. 226 236
  • Is one-armed after his battle with Lin Qing; accounts differ on whether the lost arm is the left or right. 53 113 225

Personality

Tang Hao is proud, blunt, and fiercely stubborn. He sees himself as a powerhouse of the Clear Sky Sect and reacts badly to humiliation, particularly when Lin Qing breaks his hammer technique through raw strength and avoids his strongest attacks. 51

His greatest motivation is Tang San's safety. He is willing to use destructive techniques, flee when survival is necessary, and endure humiliation or injury if it means protecting his son. 54 227 245

This devotion also leads him to ruthless choices. After discovering Xiao Wu's identity as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, he secretly intended to reserve her as Tang San's future Soul Ring, preferably through a voluntary sacrifice. 49 53

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

Tang Hao's Martial Soul is the Clear Sky Hammer, a massive black hammer described as the world's number one weapon-type Martial Soul. 49

  • Uses overwhelming physical force in direct combat. 50
  • His original nine-ring configuration was two yellow, two purple, four black, and one red Soul Ring. 51
  • His Hundred-Thousand-Year Ninth Soul Ring originated from Ah Yin's sacrifice before shattering following her return. 236 241

Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

A continuous hammer technique that builds power with each successive strike. 50 51

  • Can create an expanding net of hammer shadows through repeated attacks. 51
  • Its rhythm can be forcibly broken if an opponent's strength exceeds its stacking speed. 51
  • Tang Hao struggles to build its momentum after losing an arm, as Er Ming repeatedly interrupts his swings. 245

Great Sumeru Hammer

A decisive Clear Sky Sect ultimate technique that gathers the power of all nine Soul Rings into an enormous hammer strike. 51

  • Enlarges the Clear Sky Hammer to a colossal size and concentrates its power into a single blow. 51
  • Produces massive terrain destruction, including a giant crater. 51 53
  • Can be avoided by a faster opponent, leaving Tang Hao exposed after committing to the attack. 51

Ring Explosion

The Great Sumeru Hammer's most dangerous secret technique, in which Tang Hao detonates his Soul Rings for a temporary burst of power. 52 53

  • Exploded all nine of his Soul Rings, including his Hundred-Thousand-Year ring, in his battle against Lin Qing. 53 60
  • Temporarily raised his combat capability enough to pursue Lin Qing despite the power gap. 52
  • Inflicted catastrophic backlash: destroyed meridians, a permanent loss of cultivation, and near-fatal injuries. 53 60

Slaughter God's Domain / Divine Slaughter's Domain

A blood-red killing domain associated with the Asura God. 51 54 242

  • Weakens opponents' will and combat power while amplifying Tang Hao's killing intent. 51
  • Allowed him to accelerate and escape Lin Qing despite severe injuries and depleted Soul Power. 54
  • When unleashed to save Tang San, generates tangible Killing Aura capable of breaking restraints and forming a blood-colored giant hand. 245 246

Heavy Water Domain

Tang Hao deploys the Heavy Water Domain during his battle with Lin Qing. 53

  • Covers an area roughly three hundred meters wide. 53
  • Creates twentyfold gravity that slows movement, impedes Soul Power circulation, and increases Soul Power consumption. 53
  • Its pressure was overcome when Lin Qing's counter-domain and superior speed left Tang Hao unable to defend himself. 53

Soul Power Control

Despite declining to Soul Douluo level, Tang Hao retains precise and forceful Soul Power control. 229

  • Opens Tang San's sealed meridians and improves his condition after the Blue Silver Grass backlash. 229
  • Uses his aura to clear a path through the Blue Silver Forest. 237
  • Shields Tang San from the pressure of Ah Yin, Da Ming, and Er Ming. 240 243

Relationships

  • Tang San — Tang Hao's son in name and the center of his life; Tang Hao raises, protects, and entrusts him to Yu Xiaogang, though Ah Yin's revelations make Tang Hao question Tang San's true identity. 63 227 240 243
  • Ah Yin — His former lover and the Blue Silver Emperor whose sacrifice became his Ninth Soul Ring. Her resurrection exposes her resentment toward Tang Hao and fractures their relationship. 236 238 241
  • Tang Yuehua — His younger sister and the mistress of Moonlight Pavilion. She supports him, offers him shelter, and investigates the vanished Four Single-Attribute Clans on his behalf. 225 226 227
