Tang San was a god of the God Realm who held the Sea God and Asura God positions. He monitored Douluo Continent through Divine Sense and identified Lin Ran and Dai Yuhao as two Children of Fortune. Rather than shelter them, he intended for them to endure hardships for future growth, while planning to have Wu Tong approach them. 38

His influence over the lower realm became a source of conflict. He secretly altered Lin Ran’s soul and memories, which the Life Goddess publicly challenged at the God Realm conference. Tang San admitted the act but defended it as being for his daughter, Tang Wu Tong. 106 132 The Life Goddess later concluded that he had orchestrated a long-term scheme to seize the Douluo Plane’s Plane Master position through control of its Life Core and his ocean authority. 250 251

Following rebellion in the God Realm, Tang San lost the Asura God position. Xiao Wu died, and Tang San—injured and stranded on a God Realm Fragment after a space-time storm—was overpowered by the Crimson Mother and brought into contact with the Abyss Plane. 288 326 He negotiated with the Abyssal Sage King for help reclaiming his divine seat, sought the Asura Seed from Zhou Weiqing, and ultimately chose reincarnation when Zhou refused to relinquish the Seed. 350 351
