The Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors era ended, the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation drew near, and Haotian worried that Heaven’s Court lacked enough people.

• Xuan Yuan Shi spared the Jiuli Tribe and assigned it to guard the Hundred Thousand Mountains, then completed his merits and passed the position of Co-Lord of the Human Race to Zhuanxu.

• A Demon Tiger slaughtered Yang Jian’s family and village, but Maitreya Buddha converted the beast into the Arhat Fuhu instead of punishing it, planting hatred of Buddhism in Yang Jian.
• Maitreya Buddha brought Yang Jian and Fuhu to Spirit Mountain and told Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin that he could not see through Yang Jian’s origins.
• Saint Zhunti erased Yang Jian’s memories and ordered Maitreya Buddha to keep him at Spirit Mountain, while the Two Sages of the West remained uneasy about him.

Seeking strength during the Investiture of the Gods Tribulation, Yang Jian went to the Yellow River, where a Three-Headed Flood Dragon exposed him while he watched its battle with Howling Celestial Dog.
