Background / History
Mi Yun is the current patriarch and sole surviving member of the Mist Race, recognized as the most talented patriarch in its history. His people were destroyed while opening a route into the human world; their deaths became the central obsession behind his ambition to resurrect the Mist Race and become a Pillar God. 223 357
The Mist Race had once been a major force in the second layer of the Spiritual Domain. Its ancestor, originally a mine slave under the Artifact Clan, obtained ore stained with a Pillar God's blood and led a slave rebellion that established the race's power. After the ancestor was injured by a mysterious opponent, the race steadily declined and retreated from its former territories. 390 425
Upon reaching the human world, the Mist Lord relied on soul parasitism to survive and infiltrate human society. He could assume the identity of a host, including Lin Ran and Wang Yi, while retaining only fragmented memories taken from their minds. His long-term plan involved controlling the Tiger Soul Research Institute, developing the Blood Sacrifice, and harvesting Qi and Blood on a massive scale to strengthen himself and eventually restore his fallen people. 149 208 241 266
In the Villain Timeline, Mu Qing shatters the Mist Domain Field and leaves him severely injured. Feng Qi finds the unconscious Mist Lord in a snow forest, carries him to safety, and becomes his guide through human society. Their temporary cooperation allows the Mist Lord to build a Domain Battle Squad, infiltrate human institutions, seize resources, and take the Green Bracelet from Black Abyss Island. 233 235 241 246
During seclusion in the Old Days Mountain Range, he studies the Miracle Bloodstone and develops the Blood Sacrifice. He divides the system into the Blood Sacrifice Cauldron—the source—and the sacrificial cultivation method distributed to others. His intention is to spread it among all races, turn its practitioners into a source of Qi and Blood, and use the accumulated power to establish a new order under future Pillar Gods. 255
In later timelines, the Mist Lord rebuilds the Mist Race by resurrecting its elders, establishes a Mist Royal City, and becomes a powerful regional ruler. He repeatedly intervenes to protect Feng Qi, including confronting the Rift Sky God Clan with an army of Mist Race warriors and allied super-lifeforms. 403 404 410
Appearance
The Mist Lord's natural body is a mass of gray mist capable of forming faces, weapons, barriers, and giant humanoid bodies. When condensed into his preferred humanoid appearance, he is a youthful man with purple hair and purple eyes. 149 190 398
- Gray-white mist can form a human face or a complete humanoid body. 149 269
- His purple hair and purple eyes remain distinctive even when he changes hosts or disguises his appearance. 235 252
- He can expand into a hundred-meter Mist Giant, and later manifests a giant over a thousand meters tall. 276 404
- His true body can disperse, reform, and produce mist constructs such as shields, chains, swords, and hands. 164 220 239
Personality
The Mist Lord is calculating, cautious, and intensely pragmatic. He avoids opponents he cannot defeat, retreats when a battle turns unfavorable, and prefers long-term schemes to reckless confrontation. Feng Qi describes him as the “king of caution,” while his own actions show a willingness to spend centuries preparing for a single decisive harvest. 220 273
He is ruthless toward those outside his chosen circle. During the Black Abyss Island operation, he treats allied warriors as expendable cannon fodder; in Star City, he massacres most of the Domain Weak Race Alliance to establish authority. 244 274
His cruelty is tempered by deep attachment to the Mist Race. The resurrection of his sister and fallen clansmen is his defining goal, strong enough to sustain his consciousness when it is close to destruction. 223 283
Although he initially regards Feng Qi as a useful ally, their repeated cooperation develops into mutual trust. He protects Feng Qi from attacks, heals his injuries, rescues him from execution, and later considers their bond a foundation for cooperation between humans and the Mist Race. 239 246 276 405
Abilities & Skills
Mist Body
The Mist Lord can transform his body into corrosive gray mist, allowing him to evade conventional attacks, obscure the battlefield, and dissolve flesh-based targets.
- Forms mist barriers capable of blocking Mental Shockwaves and energy attacks. 238 239
- Creates mist chains that immobilize targets. 164
- Corrodes living matter, rapidly dissolving enemies into blood mist. 235 239 274
- Can deliberately spare allies within his mist, as shown when Feng Qi remains unharmed during battles. 239
- Expands into massive Mist Giant forms for large-scale combat. 276 404
- Is heavily countered by Little Black, which devours the negative energy comprising his mist. 150
Qi and Blood Control
The Mist Lord absorbs, manipulates, and converts Qi and Blood into combat power. This ability gives him exceptional endurance in prolonged fights.
- Absorbs blood directly from corpses and defeated enemies. 238 274
- Uses a Mist Sword whose wounds leave mist particles that continuously siphon a victim's Qi and Blood. 220
- Applies extraction-type curses that mark a target and force its Qi and Blood out through its pores. 220
- Regenerates injuries and replenishes combat power by consuming stolen Qi and Blood. 220
- Can kill multiple targets through blood control before they can attack. 277
Soul Parasitism
The Mist Lord can invade and take control of living hosts, acquiring access to their identities and fragmented memories.
- A host becomes the “Mist Lord”; the entity is not bound to one specific body. 149 150
- Has possessed influential human figures including Lin Ran and Wang Yi. 188 241
- Can only parasitize living creatures; the ability fails once a host's life force is exhausted. 353
- Host memories are incomplete and lack the emotional understanding gained from living through them. 235 266
- His parasitic consciousness can be contested by the host, as Lin Ran repeatedly battles him for control. 188 223
Flesh-and-Blood Perception
The Mist Lord can scan for lifeforms through their Qi and Blood signatures.
- His perception can cover roughly one kilometer. 239
- Detects living targets rich in Qi and Blood and estimates their strength from the intensity of their signatures. 407
- Uses this ability to locate prey and conduct large-scale hunts. 407
Miracle Willpower and Resurrection
A blue Miracle Will within the Mist Lord sustains his survival and responds to his determination to live.
- Restores Qi and Blood when he is near depletion and can reconstruct his shattered origin. 315 319
- Reforms his consciousness after it is damaged or seemingly destroyed. 223 319
- Its power is tied to his obsession with resurrecting the Mist Race. 319 424
- His Source Blood Core remains a critical vulnerability; when he loses it, he can perish despite the Miracle Will. 315
- A remnant of his consciousness within the Miracle Will can eventually overtake another user who relies upon it. 352
Blood Sacrifice Research
The Mist Lord is an exceptional cultivation-method researcher and strategist.
- Developed the Blood Sacrifice, a body-tempering cultivation method with inheritable bloodline-enhancement effects. 255
- Designed the Blood Sacrifice Cauldron as the source of the system and the Blood Sacrifice as its distributed sacrificial component. 255
- Intended to spread the method across races so that practitioners could ultimately be harvested for Qi and Blood. 188 266
- Deciphered the Death Mark and created a false replacement to deceive the Black Shadow force. 241 242
