Background / History

After Gret Nordmark's father died in battle, Karen took responsibility for the boy. He reassured Gret that no one would bully him, trained him with a wooden sword, and regularly brought him to his home for meals. 6

Karen led Gret, Raymond, Thorn, Wally, and Priest Apprentice John on patrol. During one such patrol, he suffered a catastrophic abdominal injury. Gret performed an improvised operation to save him, then accidentally cast a Healing Spell that rapidly closed the wound. 5 6

Karen was initially shocked by Gret's sudden medical skill and divine magic, but accepted Gret's explanation that he had received a Divine Revelation. He was sincerely delighted by the prospect of Gret rising from an ordinary City Guard recruit to a clergyman. 6 7

Following his injury, Karen trusted Gret's postoperative instructions, including fasting until his intestines resumed movement. Personality

Karen is protective and paternal toward Gret. His care began after Gret's father died and continued into Gret's life as a City Guard recruit and aspiring mage. He celebrates Gret's good fortune rather than envying it, particularly after learning of the supposed Divine Revelation. 6 7
