"Want to see if you can break it?" Su Wu asked, watching the blonde girl curiously feel the chain. His face held an eager smile, and his tone was encouraging.
Biscuit looked a little surprised.
Why would this kid ask that? Had he discovered her true strength? But she had hidden her Nen perfectly, even pretending to be an ordinary person whose aura had "leaked" away.
There was no way her disguise had slipped! The kid was bluffing!
"Come on, I'm just a delicate little girl~" she said, covering her face shyly and stamping her foot.
The smile vanished from Su Wu's face in an instant.
He had just used his only buff card, [Positive Moon], on himself.
One of the card's effects was something he had defined as breaking illusions.
In other words, it let him see the truth beneath appearances.
Once the card took effect, the blonde girl in his eyes had become a—

Su Wu put his hands behind his head and lay back on the sand. As he watched the star-filled night sky, he continued training his Nen.
The Six Eyes let him observe the animals moving through the desert at night. Even the plants were alive.
The Six Eyes could see as far as his field of vision extended.
The Maasai had eyesight twenty times sharper than that of an ordinary person, letting them see animals ten kilometers away.
But Su Wu's Six Eyes could see even farther. With their 360-degree field of view, he could see everything within a vast area centered on himself.
Every bit of information they could pick up within that area flooded into his mind.
So if he kept his Six Eyes open, his nose would start bleeding from time to time.
He had to eat blood-enriching foods every day, afraid he'd become anemic from losing too much blood.
At that moment, he pinched his nose with one hand while sensing and watching a particularly conspicuous life-form doing something in the distance.
Beside it were several beings with much weaker energy. They were heading toward the campsite.
Biscuit was herding several common desert magical beasts toward the caravan's campsite.

Another was a snake that was three meters long when it reared upright and made a rustling sound as it moved.
The last was a large feline beast, three meters long and with six eyes.
All of them fled in the direction Biscuit had deliberately left open, as if their tails were on fire.
"Let's see what you're made of," she said with a sinister smile.
Su Wu lay on the ground. A little while later, he suddenly heard a shrill, feigned cry of panic—
"Magical beasts are attacking! Run!"
That high-pitched, affected little-girl voice was impossible to mistake.
Su Wu slowly sat up, watching the blonde woman put on an exaggerated show of surprise and panic, apparently convinced she'd hidden her intentions well. People in the tents heard her and hurried outside.
The beasts kicked up clouds of yellow sand as they ran, forming a wall that blurred everyone's vision. In conditions like that, even keeping their eyes open was difficult.
"Come on, fight!"
"It's a Giant Desert Rattlesnake! Cut off its head!"
"The Desert Big-Eared Fox's weak points are its eyes and nose! Aim for them!"
"The Desert Striped Cat's weak point is its belly..."
In the chaos, the leader shouted at the top of his lungs, making sure everyone could hear.
Swords clashed against the beasts' hard scales with a ringing clang. Gunfire flashed briefly, followed by the sound of bullets striking their targets.
The second half of the night was a mess. Su Wu carried the two unlucky test subjects who had helped him with his experiments farther away, so they wouldn't be accidentally killed by the beasts or their own people while they were temporarily unable to fight back.
"Ahh, how scary!" Biscuit spotted the boy nearby, looking so relaxed he might as well have been watching a show. She screamed as if terrified and running blindly, making a beeline for him.
The beasts seemed to have locked onto her scent. Whenever she changed direction, they followed close behind.
Su Wu could tell she was doing it on purpose without even having to think.
"Help me!" Biscuit ran toward the White-haired boy, shouting with tears in her eyes, like a princess waiting to be rescued.
Brat, you're not going to get to sleep so easily.
She was delighted by how perfectly her plan was about to work.
But when she was five meters from the White-haired boy, she lifted her foot—and before it could come down, she saw him standing right in front of her, smiling with unhurried confidence.
Something was wrong!
As if she'd sensed something, her figure shot backward.
Less than a second later, as she leaped back, a deep trench appeared where she'd nearly stepped.
If she'd really put her foot down, she might have been left right there.
The beasts following close behind her were also torn apart by several invisible slashes in that instant.
The enormous snake head even rolled right in front of her.
It stopped three meters from the boy and could go no closer.
