Italy, a remote village.
Lightning flickered across the overcast sky. In no time, raindrops as big as beans came pouring down.
Inside the little house, Dawn and the silver-haired man across from him were devouring meat and knocking back drinks, having a grand old time.
Jean Pierre Polnareff
That was the name of the man across from him, whose legs were paralyzed.
This was the world of JOJO's Bizarre Adventure!
As for Dawn, he was a transmigrator. After meeting Polnareff, he had unexpectedly awakened the power of a Stand and become a Stand User.
Polnareff, however, had no idea he'd awakened a Stand. He thought Dawn was just a traveler who'd lost his way.
Whenever Dawn activated his ability, a string of flickering words appeared above his head, changing wildly in color and content.
As for how to use it, all it took was snapping his fingers once a day.
Dawn downed a glass of wine, then snapped his fingers, buoyed by the alcohol. The words changing above his head abruptly froze.
A blue ability.
[Stand · Beyond Imagination · Emperor Engine]
Thump!
A heartbeat like thunder suddenly rang out, followed by an overwhelming wave of pressure.
Thump!! Thump-thump! Thump-thump-thump!!!
Polnareff jolted. Where had this Stand attack come from?!
At that moment, Dawn seemed like a different person to Polnareff, radiating pressure and confidence.
He had only one thought.
This guy who claimed to be a tourist seemed ridiculously strong!
A tipsy smile tugged at Dawn's lips, and he exuded an extraordinary confidence that suggested everything was under his control. His haughty gaze swept the surroundings, giving the impression that he'd destroy everything at the slightest provocation.
"Hey, hey, are you trying to destroy this place?"
Under the weight of a mountain-like pressure, Polnareff managed to speak with difficulty. At the same time, he thought, If this guy dares attack me, I'll go back to my room, grab the Insect Arrow, and stab myself with it to release Silver Chariot Requiem.
Hearing that, Dawn nodded at once, secretly regretting it.
This [Stand · Beyond Imagination · Emperor Engine] was only an intimidation skill. Hopefully, tomorrow he'd draw a powerful ability that could protect him.
Only then could he join the protagonist group's fight and accomplish what he wanted!
"However you look at it, Dawn, you're so powerful it's suffocating."
Polnareff poured himself another drink and raised his glass, speaking from the heart.
"You're too kind. Your Silver Chariot is powerful too. You're an excellent swordsman."
Dawn took a sip of craft beer, grabbed a roasted leg of lamb from the plate, and bit into its golden, crispy skin. The rich flavor filled his mouth.
"Ahh..."
The alcohol was going to his head, and Polnareff was gradually getting used to Dawn's thunderous heartbeat.
"Dawn, what's your next goal? Would you mind telling me?"
After a moment's deliberation, Polnareff asked, his eyes shining with uncertainty and curiosity.
Dawn was the most intimidating Stand User he'd ever met. Even the Egyptian vampire couldn't compare; Dawn was terrifying.
Someone with weaker willpower might well have been scared to death by him.
"My goal? Well, if I had to pick one..."
Dawn's bleary, drunken gaze drifted toward Bo-bo's room. Where exactly was the Insect Arrow?
But aloud, he made something up. "Of course, to return to my hometown, crush the hundred-ton king, stop being a speed bump, and get my ass back from the tree it's stuck in."
"Huh?"
Bo-bo was taken aback for a moment, then assumed Dawn was talking nonsense. They'd certainly had a lot to drink today.
Polnareff set down his glass and spoke solemnly. "Actually, I came to Italy looking for something."
"What is it?"
Dawn also set down his glass and swallowed a juicy mouthful of lamb, pretending not to know.
"The Insect Arrow."
"What's that? Is it related to insects?"
Polnareff shook his head, wheeled himself back to his bedroom, and returned shortly afterward with a golden arrow.
The arrow was gold all over, covered in black patterns, with a strange beetle carved into it. It gave off an inexplicable allure.
"This is the Insect Arrow that can evolve a Stand. Unlike ordinary arrows, it can not only awaken Stands in ordinary people, but also evolve existing Stands into Requiem, granting them incredible power."
"Because of the Insect Arrow, Italy's Stand Users have formed an organization, controlled by a powerful Stand User named Diavolo. He was responsible for these injuries of mine."
Dawn's expression turned grave. His thunderous heartbeat started up again, making Bo-bo feel that mountain-like pressure once more.
"After facing someone so powerful, you still managed to escape with your life, Polnareff. You're worthy of being the first Stand User I've met."
Polnareff shook his head, his tone carrying both helplessness and relief. "Perhaps Diavolo never intended to kill me outright. He probably suspected my Stand ability was a Requiem type, so he held back when he attacked me, hoping I'd bleed to death."
"But that's beside the point. This arrow can evolve a Stand. It must be kept safe, and we absolutely cannot let him get it. Otherwise, this world is doomed!"
Polnareff looked at Dawn solemnly.
Dawn's heart stirred. He had a bad feeling.
"Dawn, can I ask you to defeat Diavolo?"
"Huh? Me?"
Dawn pointed at himself, looking bewildered.
"Polnareff, are you in your right mind?"
Polnareff was startled, then joked self-deprecatingly, "My head's still working just fine."
Dawn rolled his eyes. If he drew a powerful ability, he wouldn't mind joining the story to fight the villain.
But who'd have thought he'd draw a blue intimidation ability?
Still, if he got involved in the story, perhaps the Insect Arrow would recognize him.
The world of JOJO was governed by fate. Without the Insect Arrow's recognition, no matter how powerful he became, he wouldn't be able to obtain it.
Let alone evolve his Stand into Requiem.
"I'll do it, Polnareff."
Dawn raised his craft beer. The two drank late into the night. After settling the thoroughly drunk Polnareff in, Dawn returned to his room.
After Dawn left, Bo-bo opened his eyes. There wasn't a trace of drunkenness in them.
"Will the days of hiding and running finally be over? Dawn, was our meeting arranged by fate?"
The bells of midnight rang out.
In an instant, countless Chinese characters appeared above Dawn's head, shifting rapidly through a jumble of colors, their contents impossible to make out.
It seems I can also keep yesterday's ability. That means I can have two abilities at once. Tsk, I'm kind of invincible.
Dawn understood, then remembered that the last person who'd claimed to be invincible was still floating in space. He hurriedly shook his head to banish the thought.
He slowly raised his hand and touched two fingers together, snapping loudly.
Snap!
The constantly changing words abruptly froze. A string of white text appeared.
"Oh, wow. That's ridiculous."
[Stand · Beyond Imagination · Demon Lord Descends]
After locking in yesterday's [Stand · Beyond Imagination · Emperor Engine], Dawn began testing this new ability.
"With a name this awesome, how can it be a white ability?"
Dawn was puzzled. At a thought, [Stand · Beyond Imagination · Demon Lord Descends] activated.
Dark-purple flames swirled around him. His dark-red, classical robe seemed wreathed in bloodfire, while mysterious, ancient demonic patterns appeared on his forehead and cheeks. A long, sharp, pale horn sprouted from his forehead.
Dawn raised his hand. Blood-red flames burned in his palm, seemingly imbued with unimaginable power.
"Such great power is only fitting for me."
He casually pulled out a cigarette. When he couldn't find a lighter, he looked at the blood-red flames in his palm and pursed his lips.
"Amaterasu."
He tried saying it softly. Nothing happened.
"Amaterasu."
He changed his stance, but still nothing happened.
Dawn flew into a rage.
