"Do you still recognize me?"
"You are..."
"Oh, I remember, I remember! We used to sneak over the wall to go to internet cafés together! Good brother, who would've thought we'd meet here? I thought you were dead!"
Human memories were all hazy. No one could clearly remember every person they had encountered over the years, even if that person had once been a classmate they saw day in and day out.
Usually, people recognized each other through some vague memory, or something they had once done together. Then, as they continued to deepen those recollections, they would finally remember the other person's name.
So how did that saying go? Talk to guys about cheating and school beauties, talk to girls about gossip concerning love rivals, then use that to replace some blurry figure in their memories... This trick was practically unbeatable!
And so, something extraordinarily bizarre happened inside the room. One after another, the Special Forces Members clad in Exoskeleton Armor found friends and relatives from whom they had been separated for years among the crowd. They greeted one another warmly and even embraced each other.
Things had become very strange. Anyone with clear eyes could tell—where could so many friends and relatives have come from? Even if there were unlikely coincidences, they could not possibly keep happening over and over.
Let alone the fact that they were now inside a monster's lair, on a battlefield. Even if they had just thought they had wiped out the enemy, they should not have let down their guard like this.
Yet strangely, almost everyone caught up in it had lost sight of their objective. Their minds had been dumbed down.
In a daze, they took these survivors for their own friends and relatives...
Something was wrong. Something felt wrong...
