Francis dragged Kelbo to a pile of garbage.
Looking at the scattered metal scraps, Kelbo picked up a piece and squeezed it hard. It snapped in half.
Kelbo stared blankly at Francis and said, "This is the Ork Technology you were talking about?"
"Don't rush. Just watch." As he spoke, Francis took out Ork Blood from a box and drank it down.
Then, before Kelbo's astonished eyes, Francis's arms transformed into an Ork's again.
He then picked up a pile of junk and casually pieced it together, finally forming a tool that resembled a helmet – the Ork Perm Helmet.
Francis himself didn't quite understand why he had made such a thing.
"Alright! Do you want to try it?"
Facing Francis's sincere gaze, Kelbo felt the light in his eyes was blinding.
Was he really overthinking things?
"It's done? Just like that, with a couple of bangs? I'll try it." Kelbo, shocked, took the helmet from Francis and put it on.
With a snap, the helmet extended mechanical claws that embedded themselves directly into Kelbo's head.
"What does this thing do? Why did it embed itself in my head!"
"Ah, this thing, this is called an Ork Lie Detector," Francis replied casually.
A lie detector?
Just as Kelbo was about to take it off, Francis quickly warned him, "This thing can't be removed until ten questions are answered. Trying to remove it forcibly will cause it to self-destruct!"
"Self-destruct?" Kelbo's scalp tingled. However, he thought his mechanical body should be able to withstand it.
Francis spoke again, "Oh, right. It has a micro-nuke inside. Nothing within a hundred-meter radius will survive."
Kelbo: "..."
As expected, Francis had already reached the bridge a hundred meters away and shouted, "Do you hate the Emperor?"
"You have to answer quickly, or it'll explode too."
Hearing this, Kelbo truly wished he could die. What kind of situation was this?
Kelbo could only take a deep breath and say, "I deeply respect the Emperor."
Ding ding ding!
"You must answer truthfully, or it will self-destruct," Francis said, moving even further away.
"What kind of Dark Technology is this?!" Kelbo trembled with rage.
Ding ding ding!
"3 seconds left! It's really going to explode." Francis retreated further, this time hiding behind a blast door.
Kelbo's mechanical heart pounded. He was gambling that Francis was lying.
"3... 2... 1..."
As Francis counted down, noticeable energy fluctuations emanated from the helmet on his head.
Kelbo finally couldn't take it anymore. He used all sorts of computational techniques but couldn't disarm the helmet.
"You're serious!"
Francis scratched his head. "Why would I lie to you? It's going to explode!"
The helmet gradually turned red-hot. His brain had already received the signal of death. Finally, he screamed hysterically, "I hate the Emperor! He doesn't let us research Abominable Intelligence technology!"
"He's also hidden many standard STC templates from the Dark Age of Technology. We've all been fed up with him for a long time!"
"If we could beat him, we'd definitely blast him!"
Vroom vroom vroom~
The helmet vibrated violently, shutting down its energy reaction.
Thump.
Kelbo collapsed onto the ground, completely tense. All the machinery in his body was rapidly trying to break free from the helmet's restraint.
But this thing felt like it was directly connected to his brain, it was so dangerous!
"Didn't you set up an emergency disengagement device?" Kelbo roared furiously, but the helmet began to turn red-hot again.
"Don't rush. I need to ask questions first, or it'll self-destruct too."
Hearing this, oil leaked from Kelbo's eyes. He had never encountered such a scammy piece of technology.
Francis: "Do you have a problem with the Imperium?"
"Yes! I despise the fact that the Imperium has so many civilians. They should all be turned into servitors!"
Francis: "Have you ever thought about betraying the Imperium?"
"Yes, our Adeptus Mechanicus and the Imperium are merely cooperating."
"What kind of women do you like?"
"I don't like women, I like STC."
"Are you...?"
"..."
Francis secretly used the remote control in his hand to turn off the Ork Perm Helmet.
Many of Kelbo's artificial neurons exploded. After ten questions, there was a snap from the top of Kelbo's head.
The helmet naturally fell off. Kelbo, still shaken, quickly stomped the helmet to pieces. Mechanical rumbling sounds emanated from his body, seemingly mechanical failures caused by overload.
"Ork Technology is truly vicious!"
"Heh, sorry. I didn't expect this thing to have so many problems either." Francis scratched his head awkwardly.
"You did it on purpose!" Kelbo said, his face grim, as he approached Francis.
"What exactly do you want to do?"
"Nothing, I just wanted to hear the General's true feelings." Francis still smiled faintly. "Actually, we are of the same kind. My gene technology also faces various restrictions."
"I need to find companions, even if it's necessary."
"To break away and establish a Second Imperium of humanity! To unleash more forbidden technologies and allow humanity to evolve again!"
Francis's speech shocked Kelbo.
"Second Imperium! Humanity's evolution again!"
"Hiss, hiss, hiss, you are the light of humanity! My friend!"
"Let us join this glorious evolution!"
Fanaticism flickered in Kelbo's eyes. Francis truly understood him!
"Not yet. We must wait for the situation to stabilize before we can start a new wave of change."
"For now, we can only secretly carry out this great undertaking. I must disguise myself by the Emperor's side until I take his place!"
Kelbo's eyes welled up with tears upon hearing this. It must have been so hard for his brother!
Seeing that Kelbo had fallen for the trap, Francis quickly grabbed his shoulders and said emotionally, "Come, I'll teach you how to use an Ork Warship."
"Brother, you really! My perspective was too narrow!" Kelbo looked at Francis in shock as he manipulated the console in front of him.
He was truly imparting knowledge to him!
Francis was the one who truly understood the core tenets of the Adeptus Mechanicus!
His questioning heart finally died.
"Alas, brother, am I too stupid! Why doesn't the console work when it's in my hands?" Kelbo fumbled with the controls of the Ork Warship.
The console was covered in red, green, and purple, with no symbols at all.
Even pressing the same button multiple times yielded different results. Kelbo was completely baffled.
"Don't rush, I'll demonstrate it again for you. Watch carefully."
Francis moved beside Kelbo. The constantly changing buttons suddenly became quiet. Francis casually manipulated a button.
The Ork Warship smoothly hovered, causing the people outside to watch this scene with extreme tension.
"How can this be? Why doesn't it work for me?" Kelbo was stunned. He never expected the Ork Warship's machine spirit to ignore him, yet act like an obedient puppy in front of Francis.
The two experimented repeatedly, and the Ork Warship repeatedly hovered and lowered.
The people outside felt their hearts rise and fall with each movement. However, the Astartes were an exception; they had two hearts that got stuck before they could even reach their throats.
Finally.
Kelbo discovered the key point.
When Francis's arm was in its Ork form, he could use the console normally.
Conversely, he couldn't control the console, just like Kelbo.
"So, we can never master Ork Technology?" Kelbo felt a sense of despair.
"Heh heh~ General, there's one more method you might want to try. But it's a bit risky." Francis raised an eyebrow, a sly smile playing on his lips.
"What method! As long as we can master Ork Technology, we can accept any price!" Kelbo clutched Francis like he was his last hope.
"Since Ork Technology only recognizes Orks, how about I install an Ork prosthetic limb for you through gene surgery?"
"Although you won't be able to create things using Ork abilities, you can still barely use them."
At this moment, Francis's smile was horrifying in Kelbo's eyes.
Using xenos genes to create bio-tools was simply... terrifying!
However, thinking that he could master Ork Technology this way, Kelbo gritted his teeth and growled, "This must be kept secret! How confident are you? We also have some standard STC templates for gene technology here. Do you want to take a look?"
"Heh heh heh~ I'm about 80% confident I can make it work, but the resulting Ork arm will need regular injections of the growth inhibitor I custom-developed. And then..."
