Shinji knew his own limits.
Back in the Six Rings World, he had been able to withstand and seal part of the Breeding Overlord's body not because he could truly match an Overlord, but because the Six Rings World's spatial barrier had blocked most of the Breeding Overlord's power, leaving it in the vastness of the universe.
On top of that, the Magic Ring barriers of the Six Rings World's six Archmages had further weakened the Breeding Overlord's power as it forced its way in. Only then had Shinji been able to seal its severed limb, and even that had barely been enough.
Yet despite all that, the Six Rings World had still lost an Archmage in that battle.
Now, he had devoured three Chakra Fruits and used the Susanoo Lamp to wield a pair of Golden Eyes and a pair of blue Rinnegan. His Dojutsu and Chakra had both undergone a qualitative leap, but even so, he still had no certainty that he could defeat an Overlord.

The World Destruction Society's remaining three worlds could only hold out for six to eight months at most. Once he had dealt with them and nurtured one or two more Chakra Fruits, his odds against the Plague Overlord would improve considerably.
