Crabominable, covered in cold-resistant white fur, is likely based on a yeti from a snowy mountain.
Its typing is Fighting/Ice. This Pokémon typically appears on rarely visited snowy mountains, such as Mount Tana, in the Paldea region.
Under certain unknown conditions, Crabominable's fists, which resemble pincers, will naturally fall off. These shed claws are said to be several times more delicious than those lost in battle.
It was while following a Quilava that Luo Mu and his Luxray found a pair of these claws.
Despite recalling the joy of their unexpected windfall, Luo Mu and his Luxray did not rashly move to fight the Quilava for the claws.
It wasn't that they wanted to be gentlemen and avoid being the fisherman; rather, a pair of shed Crabominable claws left on the ground were usually guarded by...
Luo Mu and his Luxray hid silently in the bushes, acting as lookouts. The Quilava that found the claws first sniffed them with its rosy nose, a look of visible delight appearing on its dark face.
The Quilava looked around, ensuring no one else was eyeing the claws. Its eyes brightened, and it began to slowly lick its fur and the dirt off its rosy hooves.
The Quilava intended to eat the first claw with the most elegant and dashing presentation before taking the second one to woo a female.
Just then, from the human-height bushes beside the claws, a pair of enormous pincers, similar in characteristics to those on the ground but noticeably newer, silently emerged from the grass. The Quilava, still lost in the anticipation of a delicious meal and happily cleaning itself, hadn't noticed a thing.
Luo Mu and his Luxray still made no move.
This was a battle between wild Pokémon, and he generally adopted a passive stance, observing silently.
Only occasionally, on a whim, would he intervene.
The Crabominable's fists drew closer to the Quilava. Whether it couldn't wait any longer or felt victory was assured, ice began to cover its fists within seconds. It seemed the Crabominable planned to seal the victory with an Ice Punch.
However, it was the chilling frost emanating from the ice that made the Quilava react just before it was struck.
The Quilava let out a startled cry and ducked as much as possible. The Crabominable's powerful but slow punch grazed its scalp at the last second.
The cold caused frost to form on the Quilava's head. It yelped and fled without hesitation.
Its strong limbs provided ample power and speed. In the blink of an eye, the Quilava had vanished.
The Crabominable slowly looked at its missed punch and reluctantly retreated back into the bushes to wait for its next prey.
"That's about enough."
Luo Mu's voice was kept very low, but as he and his Luxray stood up from the bushes, he made no attempt to hide his intentions. The Crabominable naturally noticed this.
The Crabominable felt its luck was truly good today, with two more prey falling into its trap so quickly.
As usual, the Crabominable crouched in the bushes, waiting for Luo Mu and his Luxray to approach.
Suddenly, a multitude of dazzling lights appeared beneath the Crabominable. These lights rose from the ground, and within a few breaths, they became so dense that they formed a brilliant pillar of light.
Seen from a distance, a radiant pillar of light shot up from the mountainside, catching the eye.
"So sudden!?"
Luo Mu and his Luxray paused, exchanging glances without making a move.
The pillar of light's eruption lasted only a dozen seconds before gradually fading. The Crabominable, now in its Terastalized form, leaned against a sparkling Terastal Crystal, its fists swinging powerfully. It felt as if its body was filled with strength.
On the Terastal Crown atop the Crabominable's head, Terastal Energy formed a giant fist – a Fighting-type Terastallization!
At this moment, the Crabominable felt unprecedentedly powerful and unafraid of anything!
"Meow!"
Luxray let out a cry towards Luo Mu's suddenly glowing pocket.
Luo Mu looked at his pocket, reached in, and pulled out the Terastal Orb, which was emitting a mysterious glow. "It's charged," he murmured.
Blinking, Luo Mu offered the Crabominable a second of silent pity before saying without hesitation, "Let's Terastallize, Luxray!"
As he spoke, Luxray stepped forward to face the Crabominable. The Terastal Orb Luo Mu threw bloomed above its head, scattering Terastal Energy.
A crystal enveloped Luxray before shattering into glittering fragments. After the crisp sound of breaking, Luxray, its body shimmering like cut gemstones, let out a loud roar at the crescent moon hanging in the sky. The immense pressure caused the birds nesting in the trees on the mountain to take flight.
On the majestic Terastal Crown adorning Luxray's head, a giant lightbulb hovered.
Terastal Type: Electric!
The Crabominable sensed something was wrong as Luxray roared at the sky. Its hot-headedness was instantly doused with cold water. It wanted to escape, but the crystal behind it, constantly emitting Terastal Energy, bound it, preventing it from leaving the area saturated with Terastal Energy.
The Crabominable's eyes widened in stunned fear. It raised its fists, seemingly wanting to surrender.
Luo Mu chuckled at its reaction. Though he wanted to quip, "At this moment, are you kidding me?", he ultimately said nothing, merely giving the order: "Thunderbolt!"
Golden lightning writhed like a wild serpent. The Thunderbolt, empowered by Terastal Energy, tore through the air, engulfing both the Crabominable and the Terastal Crystal behind it.
Instantly, a dazzling golden light illuminated more than half the sky.
"We shall accept these claws, then."
Luo Mu suppressed the urge to drool and hugged the enormous pincers from the Crabominable like a treasure.
Seeing his undignified display, Luxray could only shake its head, though it couldn't ignore the glistening liquid seeping from the corners of its own mouth.
Luo Mu had already treated the Crabominable's injuries and paralysis after it reverted from its Terastalized state.
It lay peacefully in the nearby bushes, enjoying a deep sleep like an infant.
The Terastal Crystal, like its arrival, was fleeting.
Originally, after randomly forming in the Paldea region, Terastal Crystals would typically last for a full day before dissipating.
But the Terastallization of the Crabominable, the Terastallization of the Luxray, and the Terastal Orb in Luo Mu's hand, which had finished recharging, had completely depleted the Terastal Energy within the crystals.
Without Terastal Energy, the crystals naturally vanished.
"Meow."
The Luxray picked up two Terastal Shards that had fallen to the ground and offered them to Luo Mu.
"Thanks." Luo Mu took the Terastal Shards the Luxray had picked up and looked closely. As expected, they were Fighting-type Terastal Shards.
Just looking at this thing made his liver ache faintly, reminding him of the days when Scarlet and Violet were released, when he had spent day and night grinding six-star Tera Raids to change Tera Types.
