Magic Missile took the last of the Warrior's life. Gauss cautiously struck him twice more.

Only after confirming he was completely dead did Gauss and Alya begin cleaning up the bloody battlefield.

"I never thought... we'd run into something like this." Alya looked at the bloodstains and mess in the snow, murmuring softly.

Gauss, however, seemed unusually calm.

He had killed them, but he had encountered plenty of unscrupulous bandits on the road before. This wasn't his first time killing someone.

The moment they attacked the unconscious Alya, it had become impossible for them to settle things peacefully.

So Gauss felt little burden on his conscience.

When it came to enemies, you had to wipe them out completely!

Whether they were monsters or humans!

Just imagine if they had been the ones outmatched. They would probably be the ones lying in the snow, being looted right now.

If he had been an ordinary Spellcaster without a shred of caution, he might have died in the Warrior's first sneak attack. And Alya would have had little chance against all four of them afterward.

Picking a fight, then trying to run away and make peace once you realized you couldn't win—what made them think they could get away with that?

"Will the Guild hold us responsible?" This was Gauss's first time dealing with something like this, so he asked just to be sure.

Alya shook her head, her tone certain.

"I don't think so. They attacked first. Even if someone uses a spell to retrace the scene, we were acting in self-defense. But if we'd attacked them first to rob them and got caught, we might have trouble. After all, the Winter Hunt was organized by the Adventurers' Guild."

After their brief exchange, the two began methodically searching the bodies for spoils.
