The older man told her everything he knew. "There are nineteen bandits in all. Their leader is a man called Scarface. I heard he's a Rogue Ninja who fled here from another country. He gathered a bunch of bandits at Mount Mangdang and made himself their boss. The bandits have made life miserable for all the villages near the mountain."
"Good. Let me confirm one last time: the mission pays five million ryo, right?"
The older man said nervously, "Our village can only afford that much. If you think it isn't enough, we can give you some food on top of it..."
"No need. We'll take the mission," Chiri said decisively. "Take us to your village now."
At her words, Watanabe, Hiruzen, and Hyuga Rei were all taken aback. They hadn't expected Chiri to take on such a difficult mission right off the bat.
Hunting down nineteen bandits, one of whom was a Rogue Ninja from another country, meant risking their lives in a real fight.

"If you're scared, you can leave my team."
"I'm not scared. Just a little surprised," Watanabe said. "If Chiri-sensei has decided to take the mission, I have no objections."
The five million ryo reward was very tempting. The last time, simply writing Tsunade an IOU for a little over sixty thousand ryo had made him feel as if he'd never be able to pay it back in his lifetime.
