Release Day Reflections

The book would finally go on sale tomorrow.

I had major surgery a while back and almost thought I was done for. It took more than a year to recover, and my health only improved gradually. I hadn't been idle in the meantime: I fixed my sleep schedule, worked on my insomnia, started running and exercising, went back to the hospital for checkups, and had an MRI every three months. Now that I've lost thirty-five jin and nearly all my health indicators are back to normal, I finally dare to pick up the keyboard again.

So take care of your health, everyone. It really matters.

But I'm getting off track. Let's talk about this book.

It isn't a story about jumping between worlds. The connections between the worlds will gradually come to light, so there's no "main world" or "branch worlds." It's more about people from different worlds being brought together by the Ability Store.

As for Liu Shuyue and Broadly Read Through the Ages, I think gaining that ability would strengthen her moral compass rather than make her do whatever she pleased... History is like civilization's notebook. The more you know, the more you think, and civilization, on the whole, moves forward in a spiral.

My last book went on hiatus for a long time and ended in a rush. That's bound to affect how this new book does.
