Miraculous Items are objects forged by Chen Li through the Miraculous Forging Guide. They convert the traits, meanings, and associations of materials into effects that can alter rules, influence fate, or produce otherwise impossible outcomes. Their effects remain functional across worlds with incompatible energy systems, making them more valuable to Chen Li than conventional supernatural materials such as Herrscher Cores 7.

A wielder does not create a miracle merely by possessing an item. They must use an item suited to them to produce meaningful results; the resulting miracles provide Chen Li with Miracle Crystals, the resource needed for further forging 6 9.

Creation

Materials and Source Text

Miraculous Forging begins by placing materials and Miracle Crystals into the Forging Table's Miracle Fire. The fire extracts Source Text—words representing the materials' essential traits—which Chen Li tempers into usable attributes and hammers into a vessel 5.

• Relics are exceptionally efficient forging materials because their attributes possess high brightness and require little Miracle Fire to convert into true attributes 16.
• An item's meaning, history, and the emotions invested in it can generate unique affixes. Elysia's statue, for example, possessed True Self, innocence, and beauty due to both its nature and the emotion Elysia placed into creating it 44.
• Material Cards preserve a target's traits for later extraction. Unlike ordinary materials, they need not be wholly consumed in a single forging session 7.
• Ordinary materials generally lose their anchor and are destroyed if their useful traits are extracted; exceptional items may retain their identity if only part of their traits are removed 197.

Trait Configuration and Cost

Each forging begins with an allocation limit. Positive traits consume capacity, while negative traits restore capacity; additional Miracle Crystals can increase the limit 5.

Recycling and Random Forging

Unused traits are sent to a recycle bin, where they may decompose and merge on their own. Investing Crystals into the recycle-bin forging process can yield several inexpensive items, but the results are highly random and often become Negative Artifacts 5 11.

Negative Artifacts can still be useful, particularly when given to villains or used to create unconventional miracles 11.

Side Effects and Limitations

Miraculous Items are not inherently benevolent. Strong effects commonly require drawbacks, restrictive activation conditions, finite uses, or dangerous interpretations.

• Removing all negative effects is possible only with sufficient Crystal expenditure 5.
• An item's displayed effect may be deceptive. The Blessing of the God of Wisdom, for example, presents itself as an intelligence-boosting support artifact while actually reducing enemies' intelligence, luck, and mental strength 274.
• An item's usefulness depends heavily on its wielder. Specialized artifacts may require particular resources, professions, beliefs, or personal traits to realize their full potential 120 934.
• Chen Li, as a Miraculous Forger, is immune to negative effects directly imposed on him by Miraculous Items, though effects aimed at others can bypass this protection 1033 1034.

Ownership, Lending, and Reclamation

Chen Li can lend rather than sell an item. Until a client pays the required forging fee, they receive usage rights rather than ownership 24.

• The Omniscient Archive can reclaim Miraculous Items, a safeguard against reckless use of miracles 24.
• Items may be placed into a public artifact pool for group members to borrow, generating Starstones through use 249.
• Some artifacts are unsuitable for public circulation because they are exclusive to a particular wielder, have limited daily uses, or are strategically indispensable 249.
• A person can normally hold only a limited number of artifacts simultaneously; possessing two at once is rare, while three have been documented only under exceptional circumstances 675.
