This was something that had to be investigated in every deduction game. It was practically the central issue.

Masha's eyes sparkled. She was the type to gain confidence and jump right in as soon as she had a strong ally to rely on.

But Yu Xing didn't answer directly. He looked at York, who was sitting backward on a chair with his chin resting on his arms atop the backrest, and asked, "Any thoughts?"

York, having been called on, nodded. "I'm usually too lazy to think. Judging by the situation now, I'd guess Mr. Brown cheated on his wife, so Mrs. Brown's love turned to hate. She drove her husband insane, then got possessed by a demon herself, and one by one, things started happening to the whole family."

His guess was far too perfunctory. He'd taken just one detail and expanded on it, so the odds of it being right were obvious.

But York looked very serious, his face practically saying, I'm not brushing you off on purpose. I really am just too lazy to think.

Yu Xing could only draw out an "Ohhh," though a faint sense of unease lingered in his mind.
