I couldn't look.

Although Yiqing's words sounded strange, Yu Xing somehow understood what he meant—and became even more aware of how eerie Yin Yang City was.

Some things, especially those involving time, hid their dangers where they couldn't be seen.

Time in disarray might allow the same person to exist in two places at once. It might also bring people from different points in time together in one place.

Yu Xing had already experienced something like that in the tomb palace.

If that was the case, and the rules said two identical people couldn't exist in the same space-time, then if they met, the result would be catastrophic. There'd be no chance to turn things around; they would simply vanish without a trace.

Of course, this was only one kind of temporal paradox.

Yu Xing didn't think the person in the well would be himself. But since Yiqing had warned him, perhaps he really couldn't turn over the three ghost corpses yet to see what kind of "person" lay underneath.

"I'll come too." Zhao Yijiu was a man of few words. He could tell something was off with Yu Xing, so he wanted to find a chance to ask him about it without Lingren around.
