Yu Xing lowered his head to check his clothes. No matter how much of his memory was missing, he couldn't have changed clothes and then changed back. Given his personality, it was unlikely he'd be carrying around clothes he'd already worn.

So the Yu Xing Zhao Yijiu had seen, dressed in plain clothes, probably wasn't the "current" him.

The only possibility was that a version of him from some point in the future had intervened in the Abandoned House...

Beneath his calm exterior, Yu Xing's thoughts raced.

Now that he knew this, he could reason backward. When his future self arrived, the amnesiac "current" him was either not in the Abandoned House or somewhere he couldn't possibly interact with his future self.

He'd never seen the past and future appear at the same time. It didn't take much thought to realize that would be a paradox, one of the errors Yiqing had mentioned.

Whether he'd been trapped or something else had happened, he couldn't have been in the offering room. Otherwise, he would've heard the commotion outside and come to investigate.

So he really had gone somewhere he still "couldn't" remember.

Being unable to remember it now wasn't a bad thing. If a rule he couldn't defy was in place, that meant he'd eventually remember.

If it were a truth that could never be uncovered, then it would be so serious that he probably wouldn't be standing here at all. He'd have been buried along with it.

At this stage, there were plenty of ways to break through his immortality, and some that would leave him wishing he were dead.

After sorting out his thoughts, Yu Xing gradually relaxed and decided to leave the memories of last night to time.
