Dying at the Warmest Moment

After the second scene replay ended, the deducers had figured out the pattern. They walked straight out of their rooms and gathered in the hallway.

Even the Dark Star member opened his door and poked his head out to look. When he saw that nobody was missing, his expression turned visibly startled, as if he hadn't expected that not a single person who'd joined the free activity would die.

That made his decision to hide away look even more like a joke.

Still, he hadn't missed the commotion when the blacksmith ran toward Chen Run's room. He thought that if he'd been targeted by something so terrifying, he wouldn't have been confident he could escape death the way Chen Run had.

So he decided to keep meekly cowering in his room. With that thought, he pulled his head back in, and the door shut again.

"Hey, are you okay? What exactly happened just now? You—" Chen Run's friend started to ask, but then noticed Chen Run was trembling all over, his face pale. He was obviously badly shaken.

Zhang Yu and Lan Wu hadn't seen what happened with their own eyes, so they were a little surprised Chen Run was still alive. After all, his scream had carried so loudly that they'd heard it clearly from their room.
