[Since I can't tell east from west or north from south, I have to use front, back, left, and right instead. The room in front seems somewhat safe. The room beyond that seems fairly safe too.]

These were the words the Pen-shaped Real-time Repeater had written the first time Guigu used it.

The "safe room in front" it mentioned was the room Hao Laoshi entered after taking his turn.

Before Hao Laoshi took his turn, Guigu had used the Pen-shaped Real-time Repeater to figure out which of the surrounding grids were safer.

The second time he used the Repeater was after Hao Laoshi entered the Honest Grid.

Hao Laoshi entered the Honest Grid in the third round. At that point, the two Chess Pieces in Group One were very close to his room. They had already passed through four empty rooms in a row. At the start of the round, Guigu had rolled a two, so if he'd made Hao Laoshi move straight ahead two spaces, he would have entered the empty room occupied by the two Chess Pieces in Group One.

But he didn't dare do that. After everything he'd been through, he understood all too well that some people in this world were scarier than ghosts.

Besides, the two Chess Pieces in Group One had passed through four empty rooms in a row. Guigu instinctively felt that they were no pushovers.

So he had Hao Laoshi turn and head downward instead. Unfortunately, that led him into the Honest Grid. To find out how many steps Hao Laoshi had told the ghost he would take, Guigu used the Pen-shaped Real-time Repeater for the second time.
