Fairytale City

007 enters Fairytale City with no clear escape method and initially follows the usual player logic of seeking NPC quests. She agrees to help the Little Match Girl sell matches in exchange for information, gathers dry branches for sale, and wears an NPC-provided shirt to avoid attracting villagers' attention. 270

Cautious by nature, she initially flees from Gu Mian after seeing the chainsaw in his guitar case, assuming he intends to kill players. 271 While investigating a witch-like NPC's herb-gathering quest, she finds an old shovel attached to a corrupted Special Item. The discovery leads her to recognize that the Dungeon retains traces of earlier player groups. 272 273

007 deduces that Fairytale City assimilates players who accept NPC tasks, touch local items, or gradually conform to the setting. Assimilated players cease to qualify as players and become mechanical NPCs, allowing later groups to enter the same Dungeon. 273 When the NPC-given clothing begins merging with her body, she cuts away her sleeve in an attempt to sever the connection. Gu Mian subsequently rescues her, bandages her arms, uses hemostatic spray, and cuts her arm nerves to stop the pain. 273 276

The Dungeon gives no settlement reward despite being cleared. The experience leaves 007 suspicious that the Global Game is a larger conspiracy and fearful that she may someday die inexplicably in a Dungeon. 332

Later Dungeons and Search for Her Mother

In the Close Your Eyes When It’s Dark dungeon, a recording exposes 007 as the Dungeon's ghost and shows her killing Yue Nu's puppet without hesitation. 368
