"Are there many people that Divergence knows besides you?" Gu Mian asked.
Xu Xingcheng thought for a few seconds. "Like I said, he's always on the move and doesn't like socializing. He probably only knows a few people, most likely key figures from our low-dimensional worlds."
Gu Mian thought back to what had happened on NPC Street. "That dog's acted strangely before, too. It kept calling a fortune-telling old man 'Hey.' Is there a fortune-telling old man among the key figures from your worlds?"
"'Hey'?" Xu Xingcheng considered it. "Actually, the key figures from every low-dimensional world are mysterious. I haven't even met them all. The only one I've met in person is the Saintess from Exile World. I also know about Divergence, Fortune, and Number One, but I haven't met them. I don't know about the other worlds. None of the people I know of are fortune-telling old men."
Gu Mian knew about those people, too.
He'd met the Saintess in the Angel Redemption instance. Come to think of it, that instance was practically his brother's in-laws' place. As for the others, besides Divergence, Xu Xingcheng had mentioned Fortune and Number One, the key figures from the Seventh World's Ragnarok and the First World's Second World, respectively.
"Saint-Saint, Diver-Diver, Fort-Fort, Num-Num..." Fatty began imitating Xiao Hei's habit of giving people nicknames. "I don't think any of them are called Hey-Hey."
"The person you encountered might not have been a key figure from another world. Maybe he was someone else Divergence knew? But I don't know what he was trying to achieve." Xu Xingcheng carefully examined Xiao Hei in his hands. "He modified a mechanical dog, put it in Paradise World, and had it recognize people...
