As Ling Yun slept, his body was undergoing changes. The red strands that had followed him lay dormant within his sea of consciousness, slowly flowing together into a crimson bead-like object.
Ling Yun jolted awake the moment the red strands formed a sphere. He immediately entered his sea of consciousness to inspect it. If there was anything wrong with this thing, he would destroy it at once.
The next moment, the bead emitted wisps of red power, and Ling Yun understood what was happening.
This unknown object was actually the Reincarnation Mirror's source power, called the Power of Time. After the Reincarnation Mirror shattered, it no longer had anything to contain it, so it had followed Ling Yun and taken root in his sea of consciousness.
It could be said that he completely possessed this power—the power to control time. How earth-shaking was that? He had truly stumbled upon a treasure. Coming back to himself, Ling Yun burst into laughter.
Leaving his sea of consciousness, he immediately tried to see whether he could wield it. His awareness slowly connected with the Power of Time within his sea of consciousness, and he pointed his right index finger at a pot of cactus by the window. Nothing happened. Did he need to chant some kind of spell?
Damn it, don't tell me I really need a spell? But I don't know any! Ling Yun viciously complained inwardly.
What was the use of sitting on a mountain of treasure? It felt like he had taken off his pants, only for the girl to tell him her period had come. Wasn't that just playing with him?
Unwilling to give up, Ling Yun pointed at another potted plant beside him and muttered, "Bloom, bloom."
Half an hour later, he finally accepted that he could not use the Power of Time yet. He could only lower his head and laugh bitterly.
The next day
Ling Yun woke up early and prepared a lavish breakfast for his beloved daughter. After finishing everything, the little one was still sound asleep. Ling Yun walked over and gently patted Little Qian Qian, and only then did she slowly wake up.
"It smells so good, Daddy. Did you make something yummy again?" she asked in her sweet baby voice, drooling as she spoke.
"Yes, baby. Get up quickly. Daddy will carry you to wash your face." Ling Yun kissed Qianqian's forehead.
Seeing such a beautiful breakfast, Little Qian Qian was reluctant to eat it. But when she heard her father promise to make it for her every day, she happily began eating.
"Daddy, can we go out? Qianqian hasn't gone out in so long. Baby is going to be bored to death." Her eyes even turned red as she spoke, a heart-wrenching sight.
Ling Yun had already planned to take his daughter along when he went out to handle business today. Hearing Qianqian say this, he naturally agreed with delight.
After breakfast, Ling Yun dressed Qianqian up beautifully. She even wore clothes he had made himself, and her hair was tied into several little braids. She looked every bit like a noble princess.
"Daddy, can Qianqian look in the mirror?"
Ling Yun curled his lips in satisfaction. "Of course, my noble Little Princess."
When Qianqian saw herself in the mirror, surprise sparkled in her eyes, and her little face bloomed with joy.
"Daddy, is that Qianqian? Is Qianqian really this pretty?" Looking at the little girl in the mirror who resembled a Little Princess, Qianqian could hardly believe her own eyes.
The little one immersed herself in her tiny world, looking left and right in the mirror, twisting her little body this way and that, so happy she could not close her mouth.
He headed out with his smiling daughter and Little Tiger. As they went downstairs, Little Qian Qian politely greeted all the Uncles, Aunties, grandpas, and grandmas who usually saw her.
"Look at that little girl. She's so pretty, like a Little Princess who stepped out of a cartoon. And that little dog is so cute!"
"Just look at her father's looks. Those are some good genes."
"My genes are good too."
"Oh, give it a rest. Evolve for another five thousand years and maybe you'll catch up to him."
"."
"Oh my, Little Qian Qian, you're dressed so beautifully today. Did your Mom braid those little pigtails for you?" A familiar middle-aged woman asked when she saw Little Qian Qian walking over with a miniature puppy in her arms.
This woman had seen Ling Yun before, but he was much more handsome now, and she did not recognize him at first. There was no way Little Qian Qian's outfit had been put together by that shabby old father of hers.
"My Daddy braided my hair!" Qianqian raised her little face and proudly lifted her tiny chin. "And Daddy picked all my clothes too. Daddy said he'll style me every day."
The woman was a little embarrassed, though she kept smiling. She simply could not believe Qianqian's father knew how to dress someone up. They lived in the same building; who did not know a little about each other's circumstances?
At that moment, Ling Yun walked over as well. Seeing the woman chatting with Qianqian, he politely nodded. "Auntie Zhao, hello."
The woman stiffly replied, "Hello." She could not recall who he was, though he looked somewhat familiar. After a while, she finally stammered, "You're Qianqian's father?" Shocked, she realized that this handsome, charming young man was actually Qianqian's father. What had happened today was simply too unbelievable, and a trace of embarrassment appeared on her face.
