Background / History
Qianqian is the daughter of Ling Yun and An Qing. During her early life on Blue Star, Ling Yun dresses her in princess-like clothes, braids her hair, and takes pride in caring for her himself. Qianqian is notably polite to neighbors and openly proud that her father styles her hair and clothing. 7
Her unusual constitution manifests early. Qin Lan discovers that holding Qianqian suppresses the side effects of her failed superpower awakening; what began as a self-interested decision to make Qianqian her goddaughter develops into genuine maternal affection. 74 Qianqian also repeatedly displays an instinct for identifying hidden treasures, such as finding Imperial Green jade inside a smashed Buddha statue. 150
After an incident in an ancient tomb leaves Qianqian unconscious, Ye Fei uses dragon fruit juice to help restore her. Once awake, Qianqian is more excited about having found treasure than frightened by the ordeal, while those around her agree to keep the incident secret for her protection. 176
While staying with the Zhao Family on Azure Water Star, Qianqian is treated as an honored guest because of her mysterious background and divine artifacts. She is briefly kidnapped by a white-clothed man, who attempts to affect the Blood Dragon Yuan in her brow with a Supreme True Law; the Yuan resists him. 247 248 Subsequent attempts to seize her or her artifacts repeatedly reveal her defensive powers and Dragon Clan status. 252 326
Her identity becomes increasingly significant in the Twelve Domains. Demon Dragon Clan youths recognize her as their future king, and Qianqian later commands them as subordinates. 425 427 She is eventually presented as the temporary Divine Lord at Divine Peak, though her public announcement is canceled over safety concerns. 683
Appearance
Qianqian is a very young girl, described at one point as three years old, with a small build and an outwardly ordinary, harmless appearance. 425 Her appearance often contrasts sharply with the divine artifacts and overwhelming power she carries.
- Usually wears her hair in small braids; she is specifically described with two braids while meeting Ji Wuxue. 7 425
- Ling Yun dresses her in princess-like outfits, making her resemble a “noble little princess.” 7
- Has rosy cheeks and is described as looking like a delicate jade carving while wearing a crown. 1641 1646
- Dislikes restrictive formal attire, despite enjoying dressing up and posing for photographs. 683
- Can appear imposing when holding the Magic Staff and Ghost Pearl. 683
Personality
Qianqian is curious, playful, and strongly motivated by food, toys, treasures, and anything she considers fun. She enjoys showing off her “magic,” taking photographs, collecting unusual objects, and bargaining for valuable items. 198 281 418 Her confidence often takes the form of imitating Ling Yun's mannerisms, such as speaking in an adult-like tone while ordering the Demon Dragon Clan youths. 427
She is mischievous and clever enough to negotiate with adults. She bargains with Ling Yun for extra episodes of Journey to the West, tricks Old Man Chen into consuming pills, and works with Beibei to manipulate a shopkeeper during a trade. 252 332 418 She can also be stubborn, refusing to abandon a game until she finds every hidden knife. 468
Despite her mischief, Qianqian is affectionate and protective. She misses her parents when separated from them, fears loud thunder, worries about Beibei when she is poisoned, and reacts violently when others insult or threaten Ling Yun. 248 268 442 843 She also shows generosity and empathy by sharing a lollipop with Ji Wuxue and attempting to grant wishes to strangers. 425 1797
