Vinson Wright greatly enjoyed making friends.
As Vinson and Cedric, two youths, were conversing amicably, many doubts flashed through the mind of the elder Mr. Crouch, as he was still pondering Vinson's words.
Why would Vinson think he would go to Hufflepuff?
This little fellow… didn't seem to have much connection to Hufflepuff!
Such a thing should be unlikely; Hogwarts' Sorting Hat would definitely not sort this dangerous little fellow into the honest and kind Hufflepuff House.
While the elder Mr. Crouch was still thinking, Amos Diggory, a talkative man, extended an invitation to them: "Mr. Crouch, it seems we are both here to help the children purchase items from the new student list. Why don't we head to Diagon Alley now?"
As he said this, Amos Diggory added with a smile, "If we delay any longer, I worry Cedric won't be able to get the owl he fancies..."
As a father, Amos wanted his son to have the best, or rather, as a father, he wanted to provide the best for Cedric as much as possible.
Of course, Cedric had never disappointed his father's expectations.
The group walked directly through The Leaky Cauldron to the back of the building, standing before an old wall with uneven bricks. This was the entrance to Diagon Alley.
Amos Diggory took out his wand and tapped a few bricks on the wall. The sound of bricks rubbing against each other echoed...
The bricks on the entire wall began to spin rapidly!
In just a few seconds, the bricks on this dilapidated wall rearranged themselves, opening a passage to the Wizarding World!
On the other side of the passage was the scenery of Diagon Alley.
Even though Cedric Diggory had heard his father tell stories about Diagon Alley, his eyes were still filled with a sense of awe.
As for Vinson Wright...
This pragmatic individual had already received his quest reward.
[Exploration Quest: Enter Diagon Alley from behind The Leaky Cauldron (1/1), Reward: Spell to unlock]
[Spell to unlock: The incantation is Alohomora. If the user's magic is sufficient, it can open any closed door in the world, even if the door is under a secrecy charm.]
Admittedly, this Spell to unlock was indeed appealing.
Vinson Wright, with a hint of malice, harbored a guess: perhaps he could enter any common room at Hogwarts without any spells, using the Spell to unlock...
After Vinson Wright glanced at the reward, he began to survey Diagon Alley, the most prosperous market street in the Wizarding World.
The street was not wide.
On both sides of the street were densely packed Wizarding shops.
Diagon Alley was currently bustling. Many wizards wearing pointed hats stood on the street, chatting amidst laughter about their shopping finds.
"Mr. Crouch, Mr. Wright, where are you headed?"
Amos Diggory turned to look at the elder Mr. Crouch and Vinson Wright. After asking them, he immediately gave the answer for himself and his son: "I plan to take Cedric to Ollivanders Wand Shop first. He's longed for a wand for so long..."
"Cedric will choose the one that suits him best."
The elder Mr. Crouch nodded gently at them before explaining, "It seems we have to part ways here. We plan to buy the required items in order of the shops..."
Vinson had no objections.
If they followed the order, their two parties would part ways here.
The closest shop to them was Potage's Cauldron Shop. The list mentioned they needed to buy a cauldron here, to be used in Potions class.
"Buy me a sturdy pot."
Vinson Wright made his request to the elder Mr. Crouch, adding with an explanation, "Preferably one that can be used to smash someone's head in a fight..."
"..."
The elder Mr. Crouch's eye twitched.
This little fellow hadn't even entered Hogwarts yet! And he was already preparing for fights at Hogwarts?
Mr. Crouch had a premonition...
This might be his most troublesome shopping trip.
Who knew how many strange requests Vinson Wright would make!
As they walked towards Gringotts, the Wizarding bank located at the intersection, Vinson Wright slowly stopped, seemingly wanting to remember the building.
The elder Mr. Crouch glanced at Vinson and introduced the origin of Gringotts: "Gringotts, the Wizarding bank. Besides Hogwarts, where Dumbledore resides, this bank is the safest place in the world. It is managed and operated by Goblins..."
"Let's find some time to visit inside!"
Vinson Wright moved away from the entrance of Gringotts and said leisurely, "Just have to wait a little longer. Hope there will be many good things by then..."
"..."
The elder Mr. Crouch's eye twitched again.
Why did the words this little fellow was saying so seriously sound like he intended to rob Gringotts!
After leaving Gringotts.
The next stop was Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.
This was where Hogwarts' new students purchased their school uniforms.
Vinson Light threw on a wizard's robe and suddenly blurted out, "Can this kind of clothing be used as a sack? If I stuff someone inside, will it tear..."
"..."
Madam Malkin froze on the spot.
The slightly plump witch couldn't help but chuckle, "Dear, you're quite the joker. Hogwarts prohibits fighting..."
"That's good, I particularly like that rule."
Vinson Light nodded seriously while pointing at the wizard's robe he was wearing, "One size larger than this, and I'll take three..."
This was a habit from his previous life when buying clothes.
It was mainly to get the quest reward.
[Exploration Quest: Go to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions and purchase a wizard's robe (1/1). Quest Complete. Reward: Spell to clean.]
[Spell to clean: The incantation is Scourgify. It cleans any item according to the caster's will and magical power at the time of casting. If the caster's magical power is sufficient, it can even remove objects the caster does not wish to exist.]
A rather... practical magic.
Vinson Light was very satisfied with these practical little spells.
Madam Malkin's body stiffened slightly. She had never met such a proactive child before and couldn't help but say, "If it's one standard size larger than this, won't it be a bit too big for you..."
"I should grow quickly."
Vinson Light took off the robe and tossed it onto the chair.
This scene allowed old Barty Crouch to discover a merit in Vinson Light: the young fellow's mature mindset meant he wouldn't be overly picky and waste time.
Because of this, they quickly purchased all their items.
And after Vinson Light bought the essential textbooks for Hogwarts freshmen at Flourish and Blotts, he finally found a way to truly master most spells.
Or rather.
Only this method could allow him to learn a spell to the point of mastery.
[Exploration Quest: Go to Flourish and Blotts and purchase a set of Hogwarts freshman textbooks (1/1). Quest Complete. Reward: Learning Method and Task.]
[Learning Task: Learn spells using the learning method. Read the incantation one hundred times, copy the incantation one hundred times, and recite the incantation one hundred times from memory to quickly master and perfect this magical spell.]
[Learning Task: Learn potions using the learning method. Read the recipe one hundred times, copy the recipe one hundred times, and recite the recipe one hundred times from memory to quickly master the creation of this potion.]
This learning method left Vinson with mixed feelings!
Vinson Light reached out and took the bag of clothes from old Barty Crouch, handing him the thick stack of textbooks he was holding. He sighed softly, "No matter where you are, learning is a very arduous task..."
Vinson Light lamented his future hardships, then thought of the result of mastering spells and continued to sigh, "Although we all know that mastering knowledge will surely bring great joy..."
