Background
Seven years before Chapter 2, Weisen answered a strange individual’s question and was transmigrated into the Wizarding World, awakening as Vinson Wright, an orphan in a London orphanage. A system called [Must Believe in Magic] bound itself to him; to return home, Vinson must increase his magical power through study and quests, then use it to fuel the system’s world-crossing ability. 2
At age eleven, Vinson had already made Barty Crouch Sr. his first major helper. He offered to resolve Voldemort-related problems and save Barty Crouch Jr. from Voldemort’s influence, but repeatedly used the Imperius Curse whenever Barty resisted his plans. 2
Vinson entered Hogwarts as a Hufflepuff, despite reportedly drawing Gryffindor’s sword during sorting to avoid Slytherin. He rapidly became a feared and respected presence at school through his protection of weaker students, uncompromising enforcement of his own standards, and overwhelming magic. 40 51 60 157 170
Peter Pettigrew later turned Vinson into a Horcrux without his knowledge or consent, allowing Peter to impersonate him and giving Vinson nightmares connected to Peter. Dumbledore eventually identifies the connection. 203 221
Appearance
Vinson is distinguished by gray hair from childhood. As he grows older, Hogwarts students note his increased height and increasingly handsome appearance. 51 154 289
- Gray-haired.
- Initially an eleven-year-old boy upon his introduction. 2

Personality
Vinson is calm, calculating, and unusually pragmatic for his age. He is willing to use coercion, dark magic, deception, and manipulation to achieve his aims, including controlling Barty Crouch Sr., misleading Tom Riddle, and exploiting Severus Snape’s attachment to Lily Evans. 2 82 203 232 276
Despite his ruthlessness, he places genuine value on respect and friendship. He protects friends, avoids implicating them in his conflicts, and treats kind, honest people with respect regardless of blood status. His harsh methods and habit of remembering grievances leave many students afraid of him. 20 51 160 269
Luna Lovegood and Vinson himself recognize the isolation beneath his authority: most people fear approaching him, while Luna sees him as lonely rather than simply powerful. 120 289
