History

Arrival at Shrek Academy

Tang San is a transmigrator from the Tang Sect who relies on knowledge from his previous life, particularly hidden weapons and movement techniques. He arrives at Shrek Academy with Xiao Wu intending to enroll, but is stunned by the academy students' physical training and combat levels. 92 93

He challenges Ma Hongjun, believing Ma Hongjun's heavy build would make him a weaker target. Tang San uses Blue Silver Grass control skills, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, Purple Demon Eye, and multiple hidden weapons, but Ma Hongjun's Ember Sacred Phoenix flames burn through his restraints and melt or deflect his weapons. 93 94

After being seriously injured, Tang San launches a crossbow-bolt sneak attack after the fight has effectively stopped. Chen Lang intercepts it with a sword strike, escalating the hostility between them. 94 95

Conflict over Xiao Wu

When Chen Lang exposes Xiao Wu as a transformed Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, Tang San declares that he will protect her regardless of the cost. Tang Hao intervenes, but Sword Douluo overwhelms him and demands that Xiao Wu remain behind. Tang Hao leaves with Tang San rather than fight, leaving Xiao Wu disillusioned with Tang San. 95 96

Tang San returns to Yu Xiaogang convinced that his weakness prevented him from protecting Xiao Wu. He becomes increasingly focused on discovering how Chen Lang could absorb exceptionally high-level Soul Rings and on eventually taking revenge. 100 111

Failed Return to Shrek

Tang San later returns to Shrek with Yu Xiaogang, apologizing to Ma Hongjun while concealing his resentment toward Chen Lang. Chen Lang refuses to trust the apology because of Tang San's prior attempt to kill Ma Hongjun. 111

When Tang San claims that Chen Lang's killing of Xiao Wu helped him recognize her as a Soul Beast, Xiao Wu hears him and considers their bond completely broken. Tang San ultimately leaves Shrek Academy with Yu Xiaogang, while his humiliation hardens into a desire to destroy the academy. 112

Martial Soul Hall

Yu Xiaogang takes Tang San to Martial Soul Hall so his Clear Sky Hammer can eventually absorb high-level Soul Rings. Tang San joins after negotiating directly with Bibi Dong: he will provide hidden weapons, including one capable of injuring a Titled Douluo, while pursuing the destruction of Shrek Academy. 122 124

Martial Soul Hall's resources rapidly improve his cultivation. He joins the Golden Generation alongside Hu Liena, Xie Yue, and Yan, and becomes a valued weapons researcher. Bibi Dong later considers naming him Saint Son. 154 155 185

Tang San is proud, calculating, and intensely competitive. He initially treats reaching level 29 with Blue Silver Grass as proof of his exceptional talent, and he continues fighting Ma Hongjun despite the latter's superior Soul Power and direct Martial Soul advantage. 93

Tang San can present himself as polite, grateful, and loyal when it serves his goals.
