Background

Dai Mubai left the Star Luo Empire alone at age twelve and headed for Shrek Academy, vowing to return one day and overturn the rules imposed on him. He possesses golden hair and natural heterochromia, and initially travelled by carriage with little experience riding a horse 12 13.

In Suotuo City, he nearly ran Chen Lang over with his horse. After apologizing, he offered Chen Lang an expensive meal as compensation, only to be left with a one-hundred-Gold-Soul-Coin bill before Chen Lang covered it for him 13. When the Three Lewd Scoundrels targeted Chen Lang, Dai Mubai tried to protect him despite only being a Soul Grand Master. Chen Lang's four purple Soul Rings left him stunned and became the beginning of Dai Mubai's loyalty to him 14.

Chen Lang brought Dai Mubai into his plan for Shrek Academy, where Dai Mubai came to regard himself as Chen Lang's “little brother” rather than a lackey. He participated in rebuilding the academy by hand and embraced Chen Lang's promise that the students could become his future right-hand men 19 23 26.

Personality

Dai Mubai initially shows a more considerate side than his reputation suggests: after nearly causing an accident, he apologizes and attempts to compensate Chen Lang. He also intervenes when he believes Chen Lang is threatened, even while recognizing that stronger opponents may be beyond his ability to handle 13 14.

Under Chen Lang's guidance, he becomes intensely competitive, proud, and battle-driven. He treats combat as the proper path for a White Tiger Martial Soul, seeks out stronger opponents, and regrets only that he did not encounter Chen Lang's training earlier in life 55 70. Outside Chen Lang's presence, he projects a wild and domineering temperament; around Chen Lang, whom he considers his elder brother, he is notably loyal and receptive to correction 70 156.

His time preparing for and entering the City of Slaughter hardens him further. Dai Mubai leaves his homeland for Shrek Academy, meets Chen Lang in Suotuo City, and quickly transitions from an accidental antagonist to an ally. His attempt to protect Chen Lang from the Three Lewd Scoundrels earns Chen Lang's notice and exposes him to power far beyond his own 12 14.

Shrek Academy's First Disciple Circle
