Inside the Hokage's office, sunlight filtered through the half-open blinds, casting mottled patches of light and shadow across the floor.
Uchiha Fugaku sat behind the broad desk, his fingers tapping lightly against its surface.
His voice was low and restrained, as though he were doing everything he could to suppress some emotion. "Sanpo, you are the finest genius of the Uchiha. I had high hopes for you, and that was why I made an exception and promoted you to chief of the Military Police Force."
He slowly rose to his feet, bracing both hands on the desk, his voice gradually turning cold.
"But your performance at today's meeting disappointed me. Openly opposing me will only make others think there is discord within the Uchiha and weaken our authority."

Uchiha Sanpo's expression was calm, his black uniform setting off his figure, straight and upright as a pine.

Uchiha Fugaku's face darkened abruptly. His fingers clenched hard, and the teacup on the desk jolted into the air.
Tea splashed onto the documents, spreading into a dark stain.
His voice was almost squeezed out from between his teeth. "You... said... what?"
