Background / History

Tang San possesses Innate Full Soul Power and Twin Martial Souls: Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer. He initially follows Yu Xiaogang's control-type cultivation plan, strengthening Blue Silver Grass with toughness, poison, an unprecedented Ten Thousand Year fourth Soul Ring, and immunity to ice and fire. Despite these advantages, he becomes convinced that Blue Silver Grass cannot match elite contemporaries such as Shui Bing'er and Shui Wuchen. 29

He asks Yu Xiaogang to abandon Blue Silver Grass cultivation in favor of the Clear Sky Hammer. Yu refuses, explaining that Tang San and Tang Hao had planned to delay adding hammer rings until Tang San became a Soul Emperor, allowing the hammer to receive only Ten Thousand Year Soul Rings. Tang San outwardly accepts the order, then secretly leaves to add Soul Rings to the Clear Sky Hammer himself. 29 30

During the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament, Tang San reveals the Clear Sky Hammer to the public, confirming his Twin Martial Souls. He defeats Shui Bing'er but suffers decisive defeats to Shui Wuchen and Feng Xiaotian, forcing him to confront the gulf between a Soul Ancestor and stronger Soul King or Soul Emperor opponents. 35 37 39 42

After Spirit Hall captures Xiao Wu, Tang San escapes alongside Tang Hao. He later enters the City of Slaughter under the identity Tang Yin, where Hu Liena recognizes neither his appearance nor temperament as Tang San's. He fights through the Hell Slaughterhouse, gains the Slaughter God's Domain, and enlists Tang Chen's help to rescue Xiao Wu and Tang Hao from Martial Soul City. 115 133 134

Tang Chen's teachings reshape Tang San's view of strength: the Clear Sky Hammer's reputation comes from the power and techniques of its wielders rather than inherent supremacy. Tang San resolves to rely on his own ability to reach the peak. 137

Personality

Tang San is intensely proud, competitive, and unwilling to accept perceived weakness. His losses to Shui Wuchen and Feng Xiaotian lead him to question both his Blue Silver Grass path and his ability to lead Shrek Academy, but he repeatedly regains his resolve. 29 37 42

He is analytical in battle, combining martial souls, Soul Skills, Tang Sect techniques, and Hidden Weapons. He recognizes when direct confrontation is too dangerous; in the City of Slaughter, he deliberately manages his and Shui Bing'er's victory counts to avoid facing her too early, and later decides Shui Wuchen must be avoided entirely. 116 117

Xiao Wu and his family are Tang San's greatest emotional vulnerabilities. He declares that anyone seeking to take Xiao Wu must step over his corpse, recklessly pursues Yue Guan after her capture, and begs Tang Chen to rescue her at any cost. 63 64 133

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San wields Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, a combination that gives him both battlefield control and heavy offensive power.

  • Blue Silver Grass is used for restraint, control, and poison-based combat.
  • Clear Sky Hammer is his principal offensive Martial Soul and the inherited Martial Soul of the Clear Sky Sect. 35
  • His possession of Twin Martial Souls causes widespread shock during the Elite Tournament. 35 37

Blue Silver Prison

Tang San's fourth Soul Skill and strongest control-type technique at the time of the Elite Tournament.

  • Creates a cage from black Blue Silver Grass around a target. 36
  • It is his only documented Ten Thousand Year Blue Silver Grass Soul Skill at that point. 36
  • Can be layered to improve restraint, but opponents such as Shui Wuchen and Feng Xiaotian break it with ease. 36 39

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

Tang San employs the Clear Sky Hammer for direct, high-impact combat.

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer / Chaotic Wind Hammer Technique — a stacking hammer technique adapted from blacksmithing by the Clear Sky Sect. 36 39
  • Its ultimate eighty-one-strike fusion has overwhelming theoretical power, but requires time to build momentum and is vulnerable to instantaneous burst techniques. 111
  • Artifact Soul True Body — temporarily manifested through the Seven-in-One Fusion Skill; Tang San merges with the hammer and greatly increases its destructive force. 62

Tang Sect Techniques

Techniques carried from Tang San's past life supplement the limitations of Blue Silver Grass.

  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — grants exceptional endurance and supports his combat techniques. 29
  • Purple Demon Eye — enhances observation; Tang San uses it to study high-level battles and techniques. 29 43
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — a movement technique that creates afterimages and enables evasive maneuvers without activating Soul Rings. 29 39
  • Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon — grants exceptional control. 29

Eight Spider Lances

An External Soul Bone and Tang San's principal trump card during the tournament.

  • Produces eight dark-purple spider-like lances from his back. 39
  • Increases his speed and can be used offensively alongside the Clear Sky Hammer. 39
  • The lances are highly poisonous; Tang San believes a successful strike could force even Shui Wuchen to concede. 37
  • Feng Xiaotian shatters them in a single exchange, exposing the extent of the power gap between them. 39 40

Hidden Weapons

Tang San manufactures and employs Hidden Weapons in and outside combat.

  • Uses Hidden Weapons to deliver Oscar's Flying Sausage to the Hell White Tiger. 26
  • Relies on them in the Hell Slaughterhouse, where he can defeat opponents efficiently without conventional Soul Skills. 145
  • Considers a single life-saving Hidden Weapon his only possible answer to Shui Wuchen, but fears using it would leave him vulnerable on the Road to Hell. 116

Slaughter God's Domain

A domain gained by passing through the Road to Hell.

  • Suppresses opponents while enhancing Tang San himself. 133
  • Gives its wielder a decisive advantage against an equally ranked opponent without a domain. 133
  • Tang Chen calls it the number one domain in the world. 134

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Clear Sky Hammer — second Martial Soul and primary heavy weapon.
  • Eight Spider Lances — External Soul Bone. 37 39
  • Hidden Weapons — self-made projectiles and specialized tools. 26 145
  • Medicinal herbs — used while treating Tang Hao's injuries after the prison break. 134

Relationships

  • Xiao Wu — Lover and closest companion. Tang San accepts her identity as a Hundred Thousand Year Transformed Soul Beast and risks his life to protect and rescue her. 63 64 133
  • Tang Hao — Father. Tang Hao helps Tang San escape Spirit Hall, later trains him in the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer, and is rescued by Tang San from Spirit Hall imprisonment. 65 111 134
  • Tang Chen — Ancestor and mentor. He guides Tang San on the meaning of personal strength, helps rescue Xiao Wu, and considers Tang San as a possible successor to the Asura God. 133 137 145
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher. Their relationship is strained when Tang San rejects Yu Xiaogang's plan to delay Clear Sky Hammer cultivation. 29 30
  • Hu Liena — City of Slaughter acquaintance who develops complicated feelings for him while knowing him as Tang Yin; she is devastated upon learning he is Tang Hao's son. 115 145
  • Shui Wuchen — Formidable rival whose overwhelming strength repeatedly forces Tang San to reassess his path. Tang San later regards confronting him in the City of Slaughter as potentially fatal. 37 42 116 117
  • Feng Xiaotian — Rival who defeats Tang San during the Elite Tournament. Their fight reveals the limitations of Tang San's Blue Silver Prison and Eight Spider Lances against a superior opponent. 39 40
  • Qian Renxue — Spirit Hall opponent. She blocks Tang San's Artifact Soul True Body and reveals herself as a Soul Sage. 62
  • Bibi Dong — Enemy and Pope of Spirit Hall. Her forces capture Xiao Wu and later imprison and cripple Tang Hao. 63 134
