Su Ji lives at Shelter Rock in the Abyss with her younger brother, Su Yu. Their unusually clean clothing and lack of visible corruption make them stand out among the settlement's residents and expose them to hostility from people who see them as burdens or potential threats. 307 308

During a Realm Tide, Su Ji comforts the terrified Su Yu while maintaining her composure. The siblings witness Gu Chang'an and Jiang Xiaoyu emerge unconscious from the disaster, and Su Ji becomes determined to protect them despite Shelter Rock's suspicion of outsiders. 307

She gathers herbs, tends the outsiders' injuries, and gives them bitter life-sustaining medicine. Her choice brings repeated confrontations with Shelter Rock residents and Underworld City forces who want to exploit, seize, or kill the outsiders. 309 311 318

Shelter Rock and the Outsiders

Su Ji first becomes involved with Gu Chang'an and Jiang Xiaoyu after they arrive unconscious during a Realm Tide. She rejects demands to discard or exploit them, treats their injuries, and defends them from hostile residents and raiders. 307 309 313

After Jiang Xiaoyu reveals that the pair are hunted by the Abyss, Su Ji chooses to help them escape even though doing so places herself and Su Yu on the Abyss's opposing side. 314

Gu Chang'an's Abyss Hunt

As the Abyss marks Gu Chang'an and sends Hunter Beasts after him, Su Ji becomes his guide, protector, and restraint. She recognizes that the Abyss can obey him, but refuses to regard him as belonging to it. 328 330
