Background / History

Su Yu and his elder sister, Su Ji, are conspicuously uncorrupted newcomers in a camp within the Abyss World. Though their clothes are old, they remain clean and bear none of the black markings associated with Abyss corruption, making them targets of resentment from other survivors. 307

He initially relies on Su Ji for protection during threats such as the Realm Tide, but he does not abandon her decisions. When Gu Chang'an and Jiang Xiaoyu arrive unconscious, Su Yu helps Su Ji save and carry them despite knowing that sheltering outsiders may endanger their own lives. 307 308 311

Su Yu is a scrawny, wary boy whose clean appearance sharply distinguishes him from most Abyss survivors. 307

Despite this, he is compassionate and loyal. He supports Su Ji's decision to rescue Gu Chang'an and Jiang Xiaoyu, remains behind to guard them when ordered, and refuses to regard their lives as expendable. 308 313

His strongest attachment is to Su Ji. Seeing her repeatedly injured while protecting Gu Chang'an drives him to anger and tears, as he fears losing his only remaining family. 332 Over time, Gu Chang'an's refusal to yield becomes a moral example for Su Yu, helping him reject fear-driven choices. 343

Equipment / Skills

• Shadow Iron chains — Carries and deploys chains forged from Shadow Iron taken from the deepest parts of Underworld City. The chains can form a defensive line and briefly hinder a Fallen Shadow's movement, though they cannot truly imprison one. 315
