Shane was speechless for a moment before turning a deeply skeptical gaze on Joker.

But she was already wiggling her backside as she fiddled with the lock on Jason's cell door.

Whatever material her white gloves were made of, they did not trigger the electric current that automatically ran through the door once it closed. A few clicks later, she had unlocked it.

"Wait."

Jason seemed a little embarrassed and stayed put even after the door opened. Wilson, on the other hand, tried to hurry out in delight, only for Shane to hold him back.

Of course, Shane was not trying to oppose Joker.

"I've watched the collars around your necks. Different indicator lights come on when you enter the cell's boundaries. Walking out without thinking might set off an alarm."

Shane did his best not to look at Joker's bare neck, instead explaining his concerns as calmly as possible.

Then, out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Joker wandering around outside.

Shane frowned.

He had wanted another look at how Joker picked the collar open, but she had actually started humming a song outside with nothing else to do.

She showed no intention of helping at all. Helpless, Shane could only ask Jason for confirmation again.

"Are you sure we don't need to come up with a more reliable plan?"

"A plan?"

Joker leaned toward the cell doorway, cupping both hands around her mouth like a megaphone.

"Why do we need a plan? Plans have holes. Doing whatever you want-that's the best!"

Joker's airy words fell into the deathly silent cell block. Shane could not really see her legendary madness; instead, there was a hint of mockery.

Without waiting for Shane, Jason, or the others inside the cell to respond, Joker turned away.
