Jason, however, did not hesitate. While pretending to gasp for breath, he suddenly raised the alien Kinetic Gun he had seized and pulled the trigger.
A searing blue energy bolt screamed through the air, racing straight toward the unfamiliar Green Lantern.
But when it reached a point half a meter in front of him, an energy shield woven from red and green abruptly lit up. The seemingly fragile barrier was utterly indestructible. The kinetic bolt struck it and vanished without stirring so much as a ripple.
"The finest toys always require the strongest operators."
Mongul spoke slowly, his command of Earth's language somewhat awkward.
The cosmic tyrant made no effort to conceal the pride in his voice, as though showing off his most treasured possession.
"Two rings in symbiosis, willpower and rage intertwined. Among my countless gladiators, he firmly ranks among the three strongest." He continued, "Neither of you is weak, either. Why not sample his abilities?"
As his words fell, the dual-ring warrior suddenly moved.
Jason and Shazam had no choice but to rise and fight.
Once the three began exchanging blows, Jason naturally recognized what was happening before Shazam did.
The unfamiliar Green Lantern's movements were not particularly refined. In fact, they were somewhat stiff and mechanical, his attacks repetitive and predictable. His fine control fell far short of a seasoned veteran like Hal Jordan.
