Kyle, who had been rather resentful moments earlier, immediately looked overwhelmed by the honor.
He stroked the ring on his hand again and murmured to himself.
"Why did I deserve such trust from a great Green Lantern?"
Good grief, Kyle really could change his tune fast.
A moment ago, he had suspected he was the only one Hal had abandoned. Now he was calling him the greatest Green Lantern.
Shane just thought the guy was a bit too girly.
Logically, someone who could romance beautiful alien women everywhere he went ought to have been a pretty tough, rugged sort.
Was this what made Earth's artists so special?
Shane handed the coordinates formed from pure green light energy to Rachel to copy, then tossed them back into Kyle's Green Lantern ring.
He turned to Mongul, who had suddenly become incredibly cooperative, with an unreadable expression.
"Now, let's talk, Mr. Tyrant."
Shane walked up to Mongul, who held his head high to meet his gaze. At Joker's suggestion, Battle Beast had cut off both his legs at the knees, leaving him able only to kneel.
"Are you suddenly cooperating because you want us to spare your life?"
Mongul stared steadily at Shane, his pupil-less eyes filled with white light surveying him from head to toe.
"Because I recognized you. Even out in the universe, Monarch's mighty reputation is widely known."
"Huh?!"
Shazam exclaimed quietly, and even Jason's eyes widened.
Of course, Red Hood's mask concealed any subtle change in his eyes, but his head did shift slightly.
Shane frowned.
In theory, Mongul should not have known Monarch.
The Justice League's earlier research into the Universe Patch-mostly Batman's work-had shown that it integrated things that should have existed, but did not, into this universe.
Things from the past, the future, and different timelines.
