"Mosen, can he do it?" Paddy asked, throwing the person at Mosen's feet.

"Yo! It's an old acquaintance!" Mia chimed in, taking a look.

Mosen also had some impression of this prisoner. He was one of the inmates who had clamored to kill Mosen after Mosen had established his authority by defeating that burly pirate.

"What was his bounty again?" Michael asked.

"I think it was 270 million Berries," Ian replied.

"A pirate with a 270 million Berries bounty froze to death? That doesn't feel right! Did something happen outside?" Michael asked with some concern.

"It must be that pirates with bounties of 300 million Berries or more have formed an alliance! I noticed it when I was looking for Carmain Rodnardo before. Now, pirates with bounties over 300 million Berries are acting together, and other pirates are excluded," Mia said after thinking for a moment.

"Pirates with bounties over 300 million Berries have allied? Then why is Carmain Rodnardo still alone?" Ian pressed.

"This guy is too weak. With Seastone handcuffs, even I could easily deal with him. It's clear he completely relies on his Devil Fruit ability and doesn't train his physical skills or Haki. And since he's wearing Seastone handcuffs, he can't use his Devil Fruit ability. Who would recruit someone like that?"

The four of them had different expressions upon hearing this. Mia looked like a money-grubber. In her eyes, a Devil Fruit was worth 100 million Berries. She was tired of being poor and wished for more money.

Michael was full of shock. He hadn't expected Devil Fruits to be reborn like this.

Ian, on the other hand, examined the fruit with great interest, clearly having some ideas about it.

Devil Fruits only required one bite to gain their ability, but Ian clearly didn't know this. He suppressed the urge to vomit and forced himself to eat the entire fruit.

After eating the fruit, Ian sensed the changes in his body.

"So that's how it is! It's truly an interesting ability." After speaking, Ian went to where they stored water and put his hand into it.

The next second, all the water in the wooden barrel condensed into a solid, and he could control these solids.

Ian turned one of the solid water blocks into an arm shape and attached it to his severed limb. He then tried to move it and found no obstruction; it was quite flexible to use.

Ian's actions reminded Mosen of Charlotte Perospero, Big Mom's eldest son in the Big Mom Pirates. After losing an arm, he made an arm out of candy syrup, which had almost no impact on his combat power.

"Knock knock~" Mia knocked on the arm Ian had made with his Devil Fruit ability. It felt like crystal and looked like a large piece of crystal.

"Ian, can your Armament Haki cover this arm?" Michael asked.

"Yes." After speaking, Ian used his Armament Haki, and the prosthetic limb instantly turned black.

"It's completely become a part of your body? In that case, your severed arm problem is solved!"

Ian nodded, appearing very excited.

"Ian, the walls and doors of this room were reinforced with Seastone mixed in. Don't get too carried away. If you touch the walls, your arm will probably turn back into water," Mosen warned.

"Uh, I almost forgot. Then Mia, you go with Paddy."

"Alright!" After speaking, Mia and Paddy left together.

A few minutes later, Mia and Paddy returned with Carmain Rodnardo.

Unlike the previous prisoner, Karmen Rodnarro hadn't lost consciousness from the cold yet. He stared at the people in the room with a terrified expression and asked tremblingly, "What... what do you want?"

Mosen responded with his saber. Mosen couldn't stand people who harmed children. He didn't bother wasting words on scum like this and slit his throat.

A few seconds later, the pear in the basket changed. It slowly transformed into a glowing lightbulb with a green, swirled pattern on its skin that slowly unfurled.

"Another Devil Fruit? Is this method's success rate really that high?" Michael asked, frowning.

"I think there might be other factors at play. Mosen just mentioned that Seastone was added to the walls when this house was built.

As everyone knows, Devil Fruit users fear the sea and Seastone. Could it be that because Seastone was added to the walls, the devil within the Devil Fruit couldn't escape and could only possess these fruits?" Ian pointed at the basket.

The protagonist can obtain Devil Fruits here for reasons unrelated to other factors; it's simply because he's in Impel Down. My writing will absolutely not have obvious plot holes. Also, the methods of Devil Fruit inheritance mentioned so far are all fan-made interpretations (doujin second-setting). The official sources have no clear explanation. The most widely accepted fan interpretation is that after a Devil Fruit user dies, the devil hidden within their Lineage Factor will randomly possess the closest fruit of the same type, becoming a new Devil Fruit. It's also said that the success rate of inheritance increases in spaces containing Seastone or seawater. This fan interpretation is the most accepted one currently, but the protagonist obtaining the fruit has nothing to do with this second-setting.
