As Mosen and the others worked hard to improve their strength, the prisoners of Extreme Cold Hell also began to make their move.
Extreme Cold Hell had cells like the other floors, but from the first day Mosen arrived until now, he hadn't seen any prisoners locked up.
Mosen found it strange at first, wondering why the prisoners weren't being locked up.
Later, Mosen understood. In the environment of Extreme Cold Hell, it didn't make much difference whether they were locked up or not. Most prisoners would quickly freeze to death without food for energy anyway, and locking them up would just mean Jailers having to deal with their corpses.
In this icy, snowy environment, the Jailers didn't want to come in, so they simply threw the prisoners in and left them to their fate.
However, this action by the Jailers carried a huge hidden danger: some of the stronger prisoners could survive by cooperating with others to hunt Military Wolves.
As of now, 11 prisoners with Bounties exceeding 300 million Belly had adapted to the environment of Extreme Cold Hell. They had united and were jointly hunting Military Wolves.
The meat of Military Wolves was edible, and their fur provided warmth. Now, those 11 prisoners with Bounties over 300 million Belly were no longer as weakened as when Mosen first arrived at Extreme Cold Hell, where their strength was reduced by more than half.
With their strength somewhat recovered, naturally, thoughts they shouldn't have began to surface.
These guys had been coveting Mosen's cabin for a long time. Furthermore, Mia and the other three had been living in Mosen's cabin during this period, not suffering from the cold or hunger, which made them incredibly envious.
So, they decided to take a gamble and get rid of Mosen to seize the cabin.
The 11 prisoners with Bounties over 300 million Belly crept towards Mosen's cabin under the cover of night.
They had been observing Mosen for many days and knew that Mosen came out to train every morning.
According to their plan, they would hide in the snow beforehand and launch a surprise attack the next morning when Mosen came out of the house, aiming to kill him directly.
But these prisoners didn't know that Mia's Observation Haki had reached a level they could hardly imagine.
The first day they secretly spied on Mosen, Mia had already discovered them.
After that, Mia reported to Mosen every time they came near.
One or two days were fine, but Mosen started to feel something was wrong when they kept coming around every day.
Mosen had long been on guard against these prisoners, and so had Mia and the others.
Therefore, as soon as the prisoners arrived near the cabin, Mosen and the others opened their eyes in unison.
"Mosen, they're here again!" Michael said in a low voice.
"It looks like they're planning to ambush us! What should we do, Mosen?" Ian asked.
"What else can we do? Kill them all!" Mia said, radiating killing intent.
"Mia, why are you more bloodthirsty than I am?"
"These people are causing trouble late at night and affecting my sleep quality. Staying up late can cause premature aging!" Mia said fiercely.
"What do you think, Paddy?" Mosen turned to ask Paddy.
"I'll listen to you guys." Paddy still had that indecisive look.
"In that case, let's make our move! These people are a hidden danger as long as they're alive."
Everyone nodded at this and got up to go outside.
When Mosen opened the door, the prisoners were digging through the snow. Seeing Mosen suddenly appear, they were momentarily stunned.
Mosen couldn't be bothered to waste words with them. A chilling aura emanated from him, and the surrounding ice and snow were drawn by his cold, transforming into a giant python over ten meters long.
Mosen controlled the giant python, swinging its tail down at one of the prisoners.
The prisoner dodged the python's attack and shouted, "Brothers, it seems they've discovered us! Let's attack directly!"
"11 against 5, the advantage is ours!"
"Charge! If we kill them, we'll have the house!"
The prisoners yelled and charged towards Mosen and the others.
Mosen leaped up onto the python's head and then gathered the surrounding ice and snow into a giant cannon.
Mosen shouldered the ice and snow cannon and fired two cannonballs made of condensed ice and snow at two of the charging prisoners.
The two prisoners didn't dodge and instead wrapped their fists in Armament Haki, shattering the ice and snow cannonballs.
Mosen snapped his fingers, and the shattered ice and snow cannonballs instantly turned into hundreds of ice needles, shooting towards the two prisoners.
The two prisoners had clearly anticipated this move from Mosen. Mosen had used a similar technique to injure the burly Pirate back then. For these experienced Pirates with Bounties over 300 million, the same move would certainly be ineffective.
The two prisoners covered their arms with Armament Haki and quickly swung their fists back-to-back, shattering the ice needles.
Seeing this, Mosen quickly directed the giant python to attack. The ten-meter-long python coiled around the two prisoners. Mosen jumped down from the python's head and, from the side, used the Frozen Lineage Factor to create ice spears and arrows, throwing them at the two prisoners.
The two prisoners used Armament Haki to defend against Mosen's attacks.
However, like stamina, Armament Haki consumes energy when used, and once depleted, it requires time to recover.
This was similar to Luffy needing time to recover his Haki after using Gear Fourth.
Although these two prisoners had recovered some strength by hunting Military Wolves during this time, in the environment of Extreme Cold Hell, without shelter from the wind and snow, their stamina would still be rapidly depleted. These two had at most 30-40% of their peak strength.
So, Mosen chose to use the same tactic he used against the short Pirate who attacked him earlier: utilizing his home-field advantage and continuously wearing down the two prisoners' stamina and Armament Haki with the Frozen Lineage Factor.
When their stamina gave out, it would be Mosen's chance for a killing blow.
The two prisoners were battle-hardened veterans, and Mosen's plan was naturally not lost on them.
They knew very well that if they continued to drag this out, death would be the only outcome for them.
The two no longer hid their intentions, choosing to trade blows and go all out.
Facing the ice spears and ice arrows Mosen threw at them, the two directly ignored them, focusing all their attention on the ice python.
They attacked the ice python simultaneously, one in front and one behind.
Mosen frowned and threw ice spears and ice arrows at the two with even greater speed.
"Crack crack crack~" Accompanied by the sound of cracking ice, the ice python was completely shattered.
And the two were also riddled with holes from the ice spears and ice arrows.
"Heh heh! Brat, creating that ice python must have cost you a lot of energy, right? Now that the ice python is destroyed, and there's nothing to hold us back, you're dead!"
"Those holes you just put in me, I'll return them to you tenfold, a hundredfold!"
After speaking, the two prisoners charged at Mosen together.
Seeing this, Mosen slowly closed his eyes and assumed an Iaido Slash stance, his spirit and energy converging into the blade in his hand.
Soon, Mosen's aura reached its peak. At this moment, the two prisoners' fists were only an inch away from Mosen's head.
Mosen slowly opened his eyes, and a blade light mixed with chilling cold air sliced through the wind and snow: "Iaido Slash: Ice Cut."
We've received word that our place is finally going to be unsealed, most likely next Monday.
