By the time Hanyu finished speaking, even he couldn't help staring in surprise.
Was there really a problem with Yixian recognizing these runes?
"Surely not? Didn't he say himself that he'd seen them in books on divination?"
The Artifact Spirit thought it over. That did seem to be what Yixian had said back then.
"You don't think Yixian is the one Heaven's Dao Sect planted in the Central Continent, do you?"
Even the Artifact Spirit thought Hanyu was reaching.
After all, by every measure, Yixian was utterly ordinary.
So ordinary that there wasn't a single thing about him that stood out.
As for talent, Yixian's cultivation speed was nowhere near Mo Xiuwen's—or Mortal's. Hanyu had never seriously examined his cultivation method, but it didn't show the slightest trace of Heaven's Dao Sect.
And as for strength, well...
Every time Hanyu met Yixian, he seemed to be in trouble. What strength could he possibly have?
How could someone like that be a member of Heaven's Dao Sect?
Had all the sect's elders been kicked in the head by a donkey?
"I'd sooner believe you were the one. That would make more sense."
The Artifact Spirit spoke up. After all, everything Hanyu did was far too striking.
Whether it was his combat prowess or his achievements.
The mere fact that he'd slain a god with his back turned was shocking enough. That was the sort of thing you'd expect from someone a faction had carefully positioned.
Though Hanyu definitely wasn't one.
Hanyu pursed his lips and silently carved each rune into the Five Elements World in his Sea of Consciousness.
"If you want to know, it's simple. There's a master diviner right there in the Eastern Territory."
Su Xingxing's sect was said to represent the divination path. Few would dare dispute it.
